1.0 out of 5 stars Not worth your time, Sept. 28 2013

This review is from: The Cursed Crusade (Video Game)
A terrible, terrible bug ridden mess. This game has a particularly annoying bug that prevents loading of the last 20% of the game. It seems to come up on about 1/4 of all users too. This was never patched and forced me to replay the whole game right from the start to complete it.

This was not the only bug I encountered. Numerous freezes, glitches in loading enemies so they never spawn... and this is just the technical issues.

As for actual quality, look up a review on a games website. The quality is something from an alpha build. It is incomplete in almost EVERY way. Terrible game.

3.0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly fun bugdet gaming, May 26 2012

This review is from: The Cursed Crusade (Video Game)
As a pseudo-RPG hack and slash you go from place to place killing all kinds of bad guys with an insane variety of weapons, watching some very cinematic and gory finishing moves and levelling up your stats and combos. You've seen it all before and in this regard Cursed Crusade is the B movie of video games. The graphics range from decent to ugly, the level design is often times confusing, the voice over is laughable, the story segments practically ripped from a Wikipedia entry on the crusades and difficulty spikes that will make you curse out loud.

However, there's something incredibly awesome about the whole experience that is hard to describe. Like most good B movies, Cursed Crusade is so bad that it's almost avant-guard. The violence is so over-the-top that when playing with a friend over local coop, expect to start cheering whenever your character literally hammers a sword into an enemy's chest cavity or chops him down into pieces like a tree. Once you get the hang of the game and know how to hustle the broken mechanics it becomes one of the more entertaining pieces of easy achievement-hunting-budget-gaming out there.

It took me about 40 (+) tries just to get through the opening sequence, and from there it got worse. It was the same thing over and over again, and just did not work for me. The game had a lot of potential, but the developers seemed (to me) to rush it and did not give it that extra little nudge. Which could of made it a great game to play, instead of a mild tempest in a teapot.
