Darth Lucas,

This review is from: Star Wars: The Complete Saga (Episodes I-VI) Box Set [9-Disc Blu-ray] (Blu-ray)
I was a huge Star Wars fan when I was a kid. The films were magical and inspiring to me. Lucas said that special effects are just a means to tell a story, not a means to an end, and that people had a tendency to forget that. Many years later he totally forgot this wisdom. He defaced his own art, and brought forward three prequel films with so many plot holes and contradictions to their own reality that it leaves one in disbelief (just check out Star Wars reviews on YouTube to see what I mean.) But then, in the old days he had a team of experts helping him every step of the way. No one dares to question him now, just watch the behind-the-scenes footage to see for yourself. A beautiful space opera, with imaginative inspiration from old Sci-Fi serials, has been turned into pure commercial garbage. And George wonders why more fans aren't interested in the new live action Star Wars series he's working on...even if the critics cheer it on, I won't waste my time. They already fooled me with "Revenge of the Sith." I don't care to be suckered again.

Please stop buying every release for this series.,

Please stop purchasing these films until we get a High-Definition version of the theatrical releases of the original trilogy. The only edit that made the original trilogy better was the new John Williams song for the ending of Return of the Jedi. Other than that, the edits Lucas made to the original trilogy were mostly unnecessary and often detrimental to the original films. As for Episodes 1-3, please see the reviews posted on Red Letter Media to see why these 3 films are just awful.

FINALLY!!!!,

This review is from: Star Wars: The Complete Saga (Episodes I-VI) Box Set [9-Disc Blu-ray] (Blu-ray)
What else can one say about hearing the news that it WILL be released in September this year.... WOW.. FINALLYWhy not a 5 star? Because nothing is perfect. And they made us wait a long, long time... Honestly, this could have been released already, but hey.. better late than never. No need to review this saga, that has been re-reviewed so much since 1977, so I won't do it, and neither am I an expert. Just HAPPY it's finally coming :)

Guess What?,

If you already own these films then theres one thing to say.Just not needed. Plain and simple. Save your cash and buy one of the many deserving films that are being released on Blu Ray (and probably only once).

Thanks "Buyer Beware" if what you say is true, I will be waiting until they release the originals. My DVD's will have to do until then.

Re: G. Walters,
This review is from: Star Wars: The Complete Saga (Episodes I-VI) Box Set [9-Disc Blu-ray] (Blu-ray)
I put a (so far) neutral rating of 3 because I really don't care too much either way, but, while it's true that this is the modified "version", it's the way George Lucas has stated he wants it to be, and every indication is that there WILL NOT be any release of the original cut... at LEAST as long as he's alive. So you could be waiting a damned long time. Or maybe not... the man isn't exactly young OR fit, so maybe you'll get lucky. Then again, he's absurdly rich, so maybe not. But even with unlimited funds, medicine still can't do everything these days, so I guess it's entirely possible, assuming the person(s) inheriting such rights is willing to release it against his wishes, but that wealth is kind of an obstacle again as it's unlikely anybody inheriting the rights would be in any financial need to do so, unless they had absolutely no respect for their benefactor... and I find it hugely unlikely that George Lucas of all people would be giving such a person these particular rights. I suppose it's possible you'll get very lucky some way, but it's far more probable that you'll be waiting quite a while for the copyright to lapse, in which case medical science will need to be MUCH kinder to you than it'll be to Mr. Lucas for you to still even be alive to see the day. And when that day comes, BluRay will be but a bit of nostalgia for the few still alive to even remember it. Point is, unless you're a raging Star Wars nerd who absolutely cannot deal with a few changes, or even are just the rare, possibly first-time-caught-on-tape "normal" person to believe that these changes have made the films utterly unwatchable, I guess it can't hurt to wait and see for a little bit, but I really wouldn't hold my breath.

Boycott Lucas,
This review is from: Star Wars: The Complete Saga (Episodes I-VI) Box Set [9-Disc Blu-ray] (Blu-ray)
Please boycott Lucas until he starts treating his fans/customers with some respect. Eventually this material will be public domain, and then we can see the original versions again.

Wow, another bucks to spend on star Wars? why not! After all, wasn't the greatest movie of my chilhood? i bought the VHS, VHS new edition with additions by Lucas that so many fans are mad about!, i bought Star wars 4, or the 1st if your preferred (w/ darth Maul) on vhs, then on dvd... then the dvd of 1,2,3... then dvd of the 4,5,6 with the original versions...then oouf... and that's without ocunting on how many times i went to the theater to watch the movie... then comes blu ray! is that over? now i'm expecting the 3D version, ..why buying it ? Because, like so many fans it is another occasion to watch it again and again and enjoying it each time not matter if it's on 8 mm or blu ray...
