I purchased the Hubble IMAX 3D Blue Ray with great expectations but was quite disappointed. Not worth the money. Although the documetary is informative, it is rather boring. Sure, there are some impressive shots but the 3D effects do not add much. For a documentary of only about 40 min length, it is certainly overpriced (I paid $39.99 + shipping). My recommendation: DO NOT BUY. Consider buying a 2D version if you can find it for $15 or less.Hubble IMAX 3D [Blu-ray]

This documentary was okay but don't know why people seem to be so excited (NOTHING BIG). As you start getting interested it ends (only 40min long). A few shots in 3d were good but most of viewing the sky was animation. I enjoy watching other documentaries in 2d more than I did this one. I would say go for it if you wanna be disappointed...

Although I don't mind the stories on the task of fixing the scope, I was disappointed as not much view of the space as hyped.

It's a keeper....it's more than just a movie or documentory, it's a display of creation like you've never seen....the universe in a whole new way. This will stay in your library and you'll watch it again. Colours attract the eye but truly it's the capture of the everything (galaxy, milky way, the universes, and as they put it..."the birth place of stars"). The 3D was really good...the detail still remains and you just sit there enjoying what you see. The narration by Leonardo DiCaprio was well done and puts everything into prespection which when you think about what he's staying as you're watching the video it blows your mind. This is definitely a HD movie. Set your tv just right and enjoy!!! An excellent gift idea as well.

This DVD would be worth the price in 2D but 3D enhances it immeasurably, as 3D invariably does, in my opinion. The shots of modifications to the Hubble to render it operational are as spectacular as you would expect from low earth orbit. As for the educational aspects, there is treatment of the origins of galaxies, stars, etc. which lead you to ponder some of the profound questions of existence and the place of human life in the universe. They are not answered, of course, being, as they are, unanswerable but they are pondered in a most colorful and entertaining manner. If your goal is not to be educated you can settle back to be just thoroughly entertained.

It was a hard choice between 4 stars and 5. I tend to hold a fifth in reserve for something beyond even spectacular but certainly don't quibble with the 4 and 1/2 of other reviewers. If you're a fan of 3D you should definitely have this in your collection. You'll watch it often.

The Hubble 3D blue-ray is quite amazing. Since it is also filmed in IMAX the effects are great. I would recommend this DVD.

This video was filmed in high quality IMAX format and the high picture and sound quality shines in this Blu-ray format.The topic of this film is the Hubble telescope a voyage to distant stars that are not computer simulations but are created from Hubble photographs of deep space.The film also shows the various missions of the Space Shuttle where astronauts had to make a number of repairs and upgrades to the telescope.It shows how difficult the astronauts job was working in space on a complex and delicate piece of technology.If you have a sound system hooked up to your TV you are in for a special treat as the video captures the thunderous sound of the space shuttle launch.It's great viewing.
