I bought this gift as a present for someone, but I've been able to see it make enough coffee, and tasted enough of said coffee, to be able to offer a good review of it. First, it looks great. It's a bright but slightly dark red that really stands out in the kitchen. My only negative about this coffee maker is that the buttons are fairly small. There is an alternate black label that you can apply over the red and silver buttons on the top face of the coffee maker that helps somewhat, but I prefer the "plain" look of the original face plate.

The features are quick to learn and easy to use. I love the idea that it includes a water filter inside the machine to remove some of the impurities in the water you pour in. Good coffee requires good water, so this is a great idea that more machines should consider (just be sure to change the water filter regularly!). I believe there is an option for a permanent coffee filter, but it works just fine with regular paper filters. The programmable features are really nice and easy to use. You can change start times for automatically starting the coffee, the warming time (how long it keeps the coffee warm- great if you tend to forget about your coffee mid-morning), and the auto-pause is a great feature for when want coffee NOW and don't want to wait for the whole pot to be brewed. The pot holds a lot of coffee, so this is equally good for a large number of guests as it is for smaller batches in th morning. So long as this unit keeps going like it has been, this is an easy five stars for those who want a bright, functional, and tasty coffee maker.

very attractive, retro styling & great colour! I've had a lot of positive comments on it, and in fact my sister now wants one just like it.
Best part is the carafe! I've never had one on any other coffee maker that didn't drip when pouring... Finally! One that a barely functional person
can operate without a mess first thing in the morning!

Im not a big fan of screens i perfer paper filter ( less sedimint ) but now i dont have to by filters any more. I find the place to pour the water a bit small but so far i like it.

We love our new coffeemaker! We have only used it for two weeks, but the coffee is better than any other coffeemaker we have ever had, it was more than we would normally spend on one, but it was worth it, and the red color really stands out and looks great in our kitchen. We are very happy with our purchase!

Purchase this as a replacement for the same model that I previously owned. One of the the best Coffee Makers on the market that I have owned having gone throught a number of makes and models. The "fire engine" red adds a nice touch to the kitchen.

Was a little bit uncertain about how the coffeemaker works, since most other reviews were mostly about the colour, rather than the functioning of it. But I will agree, it looks fantastic, and works really well too. Carafe doesn't leak, and it's quick brewing. I like that there is a quiet beeper when it's ready.....it's not loud enough to wake anybody sleeping! Great buy!

I have this coffee machine in silver and I bought it last year. This machine is well built and makes the best coffee with the optional water filter. Using this machine is very easy and setting the timer is a breeze. Some people are complaining that they have to look in to the water slot to watch measurement when pouring in water. You have to use your carafe for measuring water and then pour in. It's as simple as that. I'm giving the silver one to my kids and just bought the red one as it is my favorite color. Cuisineart 12 Cup Brew Central Coffeemaker is highly recommended for all you coffee lovers out there!

This is my favorite coffee maker. It's not perfect, but it's red. Red is good. In fact I bought two in case they stop making them and I need another one. I had my first meltdown where I failed to put the carafe correctly under the drip mechanism and the coffee overflowed out of the filter holder.
Cleaned up in a snap. No problems. I had another one of these for years and had many senior moment meltdowns with it, and it withstood years of abuse and misuse. It has a great track record with me. I've used the Cuisinart with thermos carafe (no hot plate) and found it had several irritating faults including an impossible to remove lid on the carafe. It's still working but I replaced it with this one anyway. Now I'm a happy morning person again.

This is the best coffeemaker I have owned. The filtered water feature that brews hotter than any other machine I have used is what seperates this from a mediocre cup of coffee. Love the candy-apple red colour to match my kitchen.
