Absolute Garbage.
Battery life is terrible. The screen flickers and goes berserk when i touch my finger to it half the time. To top it all off, it shipped with an adapter from another country so is completely useless to anyone in North America. I had to power-stack for hours just to turn the thing on the first time.

Hardly any apps. I expected very little in this regard but wow, there's even less than i thought. Even blackberry itself stopped supporting this piece of junk.

Oh, and of course, the browser is horribly limited and a chore to use (with little in the way of 3rd party browsers to use as a replacement).

Basically: this thing is a media tablet that gets about 2 hours of battery life, or a coaster.

As a tablet the Blackberry playbook is okay. There is a problem with the usb ports and the on/off switches. In mine after only about 2 mos. of use, the usb port broke. I sent it to RIM and they want $99 to fix it. It is on warranty but they will not fix it. I can buy a new playbook for less than that. I also asked to have the on/ off switch repaired as it is very difficult to get the playbook to turn on or off sometimes. This is not a consistent problem. RIM sent the playbook back after almost one month with no repairs done and no explanation and fully discharged. I would seriously not recommend this device for this reason.......very, very poor service. There are many reviews online from people with the same issues.

I have just finished trying to set up my second Playbook. I figured the first one had to be faulty, so I replaced it. Second one is the same. Takes about 3 minutes to find networks. It can only see 3, although my Netbook sitting next to it can see 8. Can't connect to my home network. Connected to a neighbour's open network. Third screen in - no countries to choose from, so that's as far as it goes. Would be zero stars if I could select that.

No wonder these guys are going bankrupt.

If you want to buy a tablet, you must want to use lots of apps. But no useful and interesting apps were found in the Blackberry World. Even you cann't find a interesting input method. Compared with andriod and iphone smartphone system, The OS of Playbook is very very very low. Before buying this tablet, I didn't try to know its OS. But I always trust the band of blackberry, for this shopping, it is not good. Finally, I give my suggestion to everybody that you dont buy it.

Purchased yesterday. You need Wifi just to set it UP, and the product has no manual. We didn't have a wireless router, so I had to head to a local coffee shop. Whatever, I like coffee. Got there, and the thing kept freezing. So I had to turn it off and on. It takes a good 3 - 4 minutes to start up every time. It is like watching paint dry. I needed to select a country to accept the licensing terms - I couldn't choose a country. Went back to Future shop, and bought a wireless router so I could waste my time in the comfort of my own home. Blackberry's website is useless, hard to find the info I needed. Found a forum that said that I needed to download Blackberry's desktop software on my home computer, force the tablet to create an error on the PC (by doing a hard shut down, that at this point I had tried about 6 or 7 times already.) This error allows the option of updating the software (you know, on the brand new tablet that has never been used before). This should have allowed me to finish setting things up. It did not. So, 6 or 7 hours of messing around with it between home, Future shop and the coffee shop, I am going to pack it back up, and banish it from whence it came. No wonder at the store there was about 5 or 6 "open box" Playbooks that could be purchased for a slight discount. It seems like IF you can get it to work, it is great. I have no desire to mess around with it anymore. Nor will I ever purchase anything else made by RIM.

Blackberry is a sinking ship. Don't ride in a sinking ship. I bought it for my 2 year old because its really cheap and he likes to watch nursery rhymes on YouTube , but YouTube this blackberry doesn't let you log in. Moreover WiFi gets disconnected all the time. Result, my 2 year old threw it on the side and he still wants to snatch my iPad away. No other popular apps are available on Blackberry world.

Very sorry to inform you that it was a total failure. First of all I think I am to old for such a toy, secondly the package as you know by now was incomplete and the BB Playbook was returned.
Thanks for asking
Fritz
