Lacks the magic of the first film,
By
This review is from: Stuart Little 2 [Import] (DVD)
I found this sequel to be lacking in warmth, imagination, and unable to envolve either myself or my wife as we watched it, unlike the original. Rent it first and be sure you like it enough to buy it. I didn't.

I loved the first Stuart Little movie (Aren't we all just ever-aging children?) and the sequel was every bit as good, perhaps better--except for the mildly irritating effort of Melanie Griffith who delivers her lines as if English wasn't necessarily her first language. That said, the production is entirely redeemed by the rest of the cast--particularly the outstanding Nathan Lane as Snowbell, delivering some of the funniest one-liners this side of the Catskills. What is especially wonderful about this film is the production design: the use of Crayola-like primary colors in the great sets and costumes, and the crisp cinematography. The special effects blend seemlessly into the film so that the viewer isn't constantly saying, "Oh, wow! Cool effect." Because everything is so beautifully integrated, it's pure pleasure simply to watch and smile and savor a movie that never falls into saccharine mode but has great sweetness none the less. Geena Davis is, as before, just lovely as Mrs. Little--dimples flashing in genuine-seeming pleasure (perhaps merely at being in such good company, in such a delightful film.)Most highly recommended for kids of all ages (even the wrinkled ones.)

Only the lonely,

If you loved the first Stuart Little movie, then you should highly reccomend to check this movie out. It is funnier than the orginal (in my opinion) you may not agree with me. I waited to rent Jonathan Lipnicki's earlier summer movie "Like Mike", but all the copies was out on dvd and just was on video. And it is a fat chance that I will rent it on video. First I should point out that there are changes from the first movie. Just Mr. and Mrs. Little and thier sons George and Stuart Little are back along with both Monty (he is in a short part of the movie) and Snowbell are back. And everybody else that was in the first movie are not back. As the movie opens, Stuart Little (Michael J. Fox) goes to the same school as George Little (Jonthan Lipnicki). Mr. Little (Hugh Laurie) and Mrs. Little (Geena Davis) allow Stuart to drive to and from school in his car, but his old brother George has to be with him. George now has a new friend named Will (Marc John Jefferies). And Stuart is lonely until one day when a bird named Margalo (Melaine Griffth) falls into his car on his way home from school. Monty has only 2 scenes in this movie. The other changes I have seen fom this one is that now Stuart shares his bedroom with George and now George has a kid sister in this movie as well.

My opinions for Stuart Little 2,

Stuart Little 2 is a nice movie. It gives me some inspirations. Although I didn¡t see part 1,but I think it must be as great as part 2. In addition, many people said "Stuart Little 2 is one of the best family movies of the summer. "So I think that this would be called "summer family" movie. It is more different than other movies, because it is more interesting than others, and teaches me that "Union is strength."And I think this movie is warm;it is suitable for all family to see tighter.

Actually plays better in full screen than wide screen,

Both "Stuart Little" films are aimed primarily at an audience whose first introduction to the motion picture was via TV. So, it's not unusual for movies like this to come across with more impact and verve when seen in full-screen TV format. After all, most of the action takes place at the center of the screen anyway. The widescreen version can only be recommended for those with humongo-vision screens and full 5:1 Dolby Surround speaker arrays. For the rest of us watching on the 27-incher in the living room, it's best to punch up the full-screen version when Falcon's big, menacing claws dangle your choices in front of you.Stuart and Margalo will be cuter and more lovable, Snowbell's one-liners become funnier, and Falcon will come across even bigger and scarier. You'll also get a much better look at the incredible detail of the computer-created quartet of main characters. What most people don't know is that movies are actually filmed in an image ratio closer to TV and masked down to the familiar wide-screen format. That's good for sprawling epics but for a couple of family popcorners like "Stuart Little" and "Stuart Little 2", it makes the smaller characters seem tinier and big characters just plain tiny. Watch "Stuart Little 2" in full screen and if Falcon doesn't give you an occasional chill, well, you ain't alive.

Little Love,

The makers of Stuart Little have somehow managed to combine modern life (Stuart and his friend Will play PS2) with the Littles' retro approach to life and parenting. Each character is well-defined, and the animation is first-rate. Because I'm a life-long New Yorker who loves the city, the thing I loved the most about the movie was the way it celebrates New York and New Yorkers, especially in the climactic scene which I wouldn't dream of spoiling.

I just saw this movie for the first time and I absolutely loved every second of it. This movie is just adorable. I loved the first one but the sequel is even better with the addition of the bird. It's a fairy tale come to life and I doubt there is any child who would not love this movie. It's also perfectly suited for adults as well. The DVD is packed with great extras like Celine Dion's music video of "I'm Alive" which is the best song of the year for a movie. I would ask though, for the third movie, lets have a puppy.

When Staurt Little came to the theatre I took my 2 yr old little girl to see it and she is a very active child and doesnt always sit and watch movies. I had my doubts about taking her to the theatre but I did and she didnt take her eyes off the screen for a moment durring the whole movie. I would deffinetly rank this movie a 5 and recomend that all parents get this movie for there child, it IS great for all ages.
