Catherine is an absolutely fantastic action adventure puzzle platforming game. It decisively proves to the Western market that Japanese Developers can still bring something original and entertaining.

That being said, I cannot recommend this game as a purchase from Amazon. Amazon.ca has very much disappointed and failed me. I had pre-ordered this game in May only a few days after it had shown up on the Amazon.ca marketplace. The game did not ship when it was supposed to. And currently Amazon.ca has no idea when they will be able to ship this item.

I do not see myself purchasing any other products from Amazon.ca in the future.

Please buy this fantastic game and support Atlus' creative efforts in the world of gaming, but look elsewhere.

Catherine is a wonderful game, but amazon failed to deliver on my day 1 order. Until they deliver on that order I will be VERY upset and refuse to buy from them.

As many have already stated the game itself is amazing, but pre-ordering from Amazon, I don't think I'll ever do that again...tI preordered since may 2011 and then find out from amazon that: "oh we don't have the game" on release and they haven't even told us what's happening just telling us, we'll tell you when it becomes available...

The game itself is really good and I loved it, this special edition is awesome too. I am glad I got it before it ran out of merchandise.

I have always loved the game and story Catherine ever since I bought it the first day it came out. Anything and everything to do with Catherine I own, and this is a perfect set for any Catherine fan. Soon as I opened it I was in love. If you know the game you will recognize everything in the set very quickly. It is like you reached in the TV and pulled out the stuff. If you know someone or are someone who loves Catherine I say buy this. Even if you already have the game buy it's self it is worth buying the set anyways for the extras.

Stop knocking them for the release delay we experienced. The fault was 100% on Atlus's end, they forgot Amazon.ca's order and sent them zero copies... Amazon.ca complained when they noticed they were left out, and Atlus printed a bunch more Deluxe Editions just for us. It took an extra week, but we all should have our copies in hand by now. Amazon.ca has close relationships with publisher's and is clearly the best online store to order from. These kinds of things happen to other retailers too. When they happen, do you really think they have 1 week resolutions? Or do I need to post my Agarest War Zero LE Bestbuy.ca horror story that ends with me still not having it now...

I preordered Catherine "Love Is Over" Deluxe Edition from Amazon.ca back in May. I was absolutely enthralled with the game and wanted to guarantee my copy with all bonuses included. The shipping date came - nothing. I waited for a few days - nothing. The Catherine Deluxe Editions sold out from all my local gaming stores, but I still waited - nothing. After all, I'd preordered to ensure I'd be receiving a copy! Then I receive an email from Amazon.ca that they're still "trying" to obtain my order, but that I should probably cancel. Here I am, a week after release date, with no copy of the game I'd preordered from Amazon, and no copies left anywhere in the city. If preordering through Amazon.ca did anything, it was ruin my chance of getting a Deluxe Edition!

Calling customer service provided no help. The representative I spoke to said I should try buying through one of Amazon.ca's third-party sellers. Yeah, thanks - those sellers have only doubled their prices after Amazon.ca's screwup.

I will never, ever preorder games from Amazon.ca again. Too bad, too - I guess my business for Dark Souls, Disgaea 4, and ICO/Shadow of the Colossus will be going elsewhere. Thanks to Amazon.ca, I still haven't been able to play this wonderful game and missed out on my Deluxe Edition.

I pre-ordered my game about 2 month ago, and so far amazon still haven't secured any copies. Still I had faith in amazon and waited. Now the Love is Over edition is sold out pretty much everywhere and I am extremely upset. Never pre-ordering from Amazon again!!!!!!!!!!

As with the other customers who have taken time to write a review, my disappointed stems with the fact that Amazon has been unable to deliver my item as of yet - and that they have no estimation as to when that may be. I put m order in for the game at the beginning of May, pretty much at the instant I heard about the Deluxe Edition. If I cannot receive the bonuses of the Deluxe Edition, there is no doubt that I'll be incredibly upset with Amazon for failing to provide me with what I ordered - given that these bonuses will be in small supply. I have been able to play the game through my roommate's copy (which he received as part of a Deluxe Edition ordered through Gamestop, a company that was able to provide the Deluxe Edition on time!) and I love it - but at this point, just getting the game would be a severe disappointment. I was looking forward to the items, otherwise I would have never bothered ordering this edition.

This isn't a review of the actual game; it is a review of Amazon's commitment to deliver this game (or lack there of). I pre-ordered the deluxe edition of this game OVER TWO MONTHS BEFORE ITS RELEASE and somehow Amazon is still incapable of utilizing its vast corporate resources to satisfy the promises it makes to its customers. As many others have posted, Amazon has failed to deliver the game during its release date window, and is also unable to provide a shipping date or delivery estimate. What's worse, they gladly display that its third-party sellers have the game available. Why doesn't Amazon just purchase additional copies of the game from the third-party sellers and then make good on the pre-order promises it made to its customers? They won't... because they don't really care.

I realize that this edition was only being produced in limited numbers based on demand... BUT THAT WAS THE POINT OF PRE-ORDERING!! How difficult could it be? "Hey Atlus, we need 'x' number of copies to meet all the pre-order promises that we made to our loyal customers."; "No problem, Amazon! We'll supply you with the 'x' copies that you need". Is Amazon's inventory logistics and supplier-chain management system really that incompetent? That seems to be the case.
