5.0 out of 5 stars Epic Conclusion
The Mass Effect Trilogy is nothing short of spectacular and after getting the Final Hours DLC Mass Effect 3 became an amazing ending to Commander Shepard's tale. Can't wait to see what BioWare does next with the ME Universe

1.0 out of 5 stars Visually Stunning game that fails in its last moments and has little replay value
there are some moments of brilliance from the characters from mass effect 2, and the game is visually stunning and the combat system is about perfect, they smoothed over buying things from shops and searching planets for resources which was a real downer from the last game. still the game fails hard in its last moments and despite the claim of 16 different endings (which...

there are some moments of brilliance from the characters from mass effect 2, and the game is visually stunning and the combat system is about perfect, they smoothed over buying things from shops and searching planets for resources which was a real downer from the last game. still the game fails hard in its last moments and despite the claim of 16 different endings (which i think was really stolen from the Witcher 2) there is only one, I found there's little replay value because of this.

I'd suggest borrowing it from a friend and playing it through once before buying the game.

2.0 out of 5 stars Ending Ruins Great Game, Mar 19 2012

I was so excited when this game came out. I thought it was going to be a wonderful wrap-up to an incredible trilogy. And it seemed to be that way, until the last 10 minutes of the game. The story line keeps you so invested and emotionally charged, then the end hits you with a sack of bricks. Everything that Bioware promised us is gone, there is no logical conclusion to all the decisions you were able to make throughout the game. Even though the gameplay is good, the last ten minutes of the game takes away the replay value of the series. Who wants to play a trilogy that goes nowhere, leaves you with no answers.

As far as content is concerned, few games can match it for the money. If you want to get the day 1 DLC, then get this version, since it'll cost you the same in the end. You get a lot of extras as well: art book, soundtrack, velcro N7 patch, Normandy lithograph, etc. Now, finding it is another issue. Amazon is fast if you decide to order through here. Took 3 days.

As far as the game is concerned, if you take out the ending of the game then you've got yourself a stellar title. Multiplayer is fun, even though all it is is a glorified horde mode. That being said, it is better than GoW horde mode. Mainly because there are a lot more weapons and different types of characters with different powers to play with. Nice addition even though it is completely unnecessary. Single player has been stripped down to bare bones it seems and side missons are nowhere near as fun as the ones from the first two games. They got nothing on the loyalty missions from ME2. The citadel 'errand' quests are by far the worst, taking the fun out of the rest of the game. Now, playing the game's main story missions is where it's at. Unfortunately there are less squadmates this time, one of which is from the day 1 DLC. Weapons are many fortunately and they haven't lessened the amount of powers from the 2nd game. The gameplay mechanics are solid, even though having the space bar mapped onto so many actions is a bit annoying. Still, I wish they went back into the first game and grabbed some of that and slapped it into this title. As is it feels very stripped down, barebones version of what it should be. If you are not a long time fan of Mass Effect, then you probably won't notice a lot of the problems. Still, that doesn't mean you will like the ending either.

Rating this game largely in terms of overall fun I had and still have in MP: 9/10
As a long time fan: 7/10
If I got the regular edition without the DLC and extra stuff: 5/10

Excellent game, received in excellent condition. Received it 2 days after ordering it. Tin cover is amazing, small litle extras are nice too and I was lucky enough to get it at original price!
