2.0 out of 5 stars Good concert but let down by poor audio
Well, My hubby and I have loved Rush for more than 30 years and have managed to attend several of their concerts which we enjoyed thoroughly. But why, why can't they record sound worthy of such a fantastic group. Any DVD or Blu Ray we have bought in Canada has not been up to the standard of most other Blu-ray concerts; David Gilmor, Paul Rodgers, AC-DC, Status Quo to...

Over the course of the last several years, Rush has subjected their audience to an avalanche of live DVD releases (Not to mention an insane number of compilations) to the point where any Rush fan could get dangerously annoyed with their material of late. The DVD releases ran the gamut of promising but short efforts to outright documents of their sleepwalking live performances. Almost ready to give up, I watched 'Time Machine' and was pleasantly surprised. This DVD is an excellent production. Beginning with a conceptual video of the 'true' and hilarious origins of Rush, the video moves into Rush's performance in Cleveland. Maintaining the steam-punk theme throughout the show, Rush presents an energetic performance, filled with powerful musicianship, and playful interactions with the audience. And the audience shots for this show reveal a crowd that is an enthusiastic as the one that attended the 'Rush in Rio' show. Beautifully shot, well-lit, excellent sound, Rush finally got it completely right.

5.0 out of 5 stars Rush: Time Machine is timeless, Feb 2 2012
"Rush: Time Machine" is from a concert in Cleveland in 2011, and for long standing Rush fans this is a terrific concert film. One of the best parts is that the camera isn't constantly jerking around from one place to another and allows the viewer to see and appreciate what incredible musicians these three truly are. The playlist covers a little bit of everything from their 40 years together, including one, "BU2B" from an upcoming new album. Some old songs are given updated twists, something true fans will appreciate. I think the biggest thing I got from watching this concert is that it's so obvious they love what they do and they still have fun doing it. Where many bands have burned out or broken up, Rush just keeps on rockin'.

5.0 out of 5 stars Still Rockin' After 37 Years!, Nov 15 2011

Well, Geddy & Alex have been together for 43 years as Rush but the first album didn't technically release until 1974. Regardless, Time Machine Tour delivers a lot of favourites from those earlier years including, for the first time, Moving Pictures performed in its entirety! It's fitting that they recorded they entire Cleveland show as it was a Cleveland radio station that gave them the air play that parlayed into their mega success! Although now into their 50s, Rush still deliver the intensity and musical mastery they have always striven for! These boys show no signs of slowing down. Having survived the '70s & '80s excess by most rock bands, their longevity shows that they were never a flash in the pan band. Revered by some of the great musicians of the 80s, 90s, and into the 21st century, a Rush performance is still a wonder to behold. A definite buy for the serious or casual fan of their immense catalogue.

With my headphones and my HDTV plus this new RUSH concert in Bluray, i can now live in a desire a RUSH concert in my living room. Save by technology & Tough time demand tough talk but RUSH stand still Show Me Don't Tell Me... Only RUSH fans can understand what is this version of MARATHON live in Cleaveland 2011. A multi-orgasmics performance. For the first time on video CAMERA EYES & VITAL SIGN... I don't believe the word God but.. «hooooo my God»... Passionnate Music. If the others RUSH concerts-film put the enphase on musicians, what they do and how they sound live, this is the best of its kind. Marathon, Faithless, Camera Eyes, Vital Signs, Freewill, Leave That Things Alone, the drum solo and all their recent stuffs are particularly awsome.

Perfect sound and cameras footage, raw, live, those guys on tour, those happy fans, this hahurissante Bass, a guitarist on fire, the professor in his best shape and all those genius Hemispheres.. Put this Bluray on your headphones at force 10 and your blood freeze. 10/10 again and again.

Great performance. Awesome extras. Maybe the best live DVD so far from the boys in RUSH. Just get it. It's worth watching over and over... and Moving Pictures in its entirety!

5.0 out of 5 stars Rush At Their Best. Must Have., Dec 16 2011
By
motionmover (Toronto, Ontario Canada) - See all my reviews
Of all the Rush dvd's I have, this is the one I enjoy watching the most. Well filmed and coreographed. HD picture is fantastic, grainy in some shots. Some shots of Geddy seem less focused, but these are only minor quibles. Rush just gets better with age. They can put any band out today to shame. Your mouth will drop to the floor watching these 3 musicians do their stuff. Here's to the best band alive today. What are you waiting for buy this blu-ray, you won't be disappointed.

This Rush performance kicks butt. Beiber can be drug out into the street and shot. Rush kicks off the show with The Spirit Of Radio. All the hits are included, Closer To The Heart, Tom Sawyer, Working Man, 2112 & The Moving Pictures Album the whole way through. The Camera work is terrific cause it stays in one place. I hope Geddy, Neil & Alex play Winnipeg before they retire.

Well, My hubby and I have loved Rush for more than 30 years and have managed to attend several of their concerts which we enjoyed thoroughly. But why, why can't they record sound worthy of such a fantastic group. Any DVD or Blu Ray we have bought in Canada has not been up to the standard of most other Blu-ray concerts; David Gilmor, Paul Rodgers, AC-DC, Status Quo to name but a few. The DVD we bought in the U.K. 25 years ago was far superior and that was on good but nothing like the awesome equipment my dear hubby has amassed now!! Good video but audio is 2/5. Very disappointing...Just replayed to the Blu Ray and even after tweaking various components, still very disappointed indeed!!
