As a huge fan of the books - and now the TV series - I can't hate Game of Thrones just because it IS an RPG set in Westeros. That said, it's not groundbreaking in any sense of the word though the story is really interesting and has several unexpected twists in it. You play as one of two men, either Mors from the Night's Watch or Alestar, a Red Priest who's returned home to Westeros after a long absence in Myrr. Both of them are really well developed and have detailed back stories, which makes up for the fact that you can't create your own character. That said, some of the secondary characters felt a bit flat but it's still pretty cool to talk to a Maester or Jorah Mormont or any number of people from the novels. I found that the voice acting was stellar, by the way, especially Mors.Essentially, the story is what keep this game worth playing and compensates for the many, many cut scenes that slow it down (seriously, at some points your characters stop to chat after every single fight! Thank goodness for the 'skip' function). I did enjoy the fact that there are little to no 'fetch quests' to slog through, so I didn't have to spend days grinding away killing rats just to get to the next chapter. In short, this isn't a perfect RPG but it's a good effort and I enjoyed playing it. To be honest, I wanted to give this 3.5 stars and not four but I decided to upgrade the rating because hey, it's Game of Thrones.

I bought this having fallen in love with the books and the television series. In part, my disappointment with the game came from having just played the Assassin's Creed games (so I am unfairly comparing.) The storyline, as others have said, is excellent and fits into the lore of a Song of Ice and Fire very well, however the gameplay is what makes this title so unforunate. As others have said, the graphics are very poor and compared to the richness of the series appear dull and uninteresting. The cinematics, which practically hijack gameplay, could easily be remade into a full on movie. The initial character setup at the beginning was cryptic, and the game controls are clumsy. The world is set up well though, and Castle Black at the beginning is as grand as it appears in the series. However, the grandness of the game arena is unfortuantely undercut by the low quality of graphics. Overall, I will continue to play now I am invested, but I do think this is a title unworthy of the PS3 system (I think it would be more at home on PS2),

After watching the series which is awesome, was super excited to play the game!To my disappointment weak gameplay and second-hand graphics made it NOT FUN to play. Better luck next time!
