5.0 out of 5 stars Great
I liked this show when it was on the air, so I bought the DVDs. Unlike some people, like "A Customer" (the person who rated this with 1 star), I don't buy DVDs of shows I don't like (or review things I HAVEN'T purchased)because I'm not mentally disturbed. This is a great set and worth the money if you're a fan of the show. If you AREN'T a fan of the show.....you...

1.0 out of 5 stars Glad the Stinky Seventies Are Over!
I never liked this show or the title. If the story lines are so weak that they have to keep hammering viewers over the head with "it's [supposed to be] the 70s," then the story was rather weak to start with.
In the real 1970s, nobody went around declaring the year and the date. In the real 1970s, nobody seemed to want them -- many TV shows were period...

There are no surprise episodes of the Waltons or Little House on the Prarie here....just That 70's show.

...some people's kids....I tell you.

5.0 out of 5 stars 70s show is awesome, Dec 14 2005

That 70s show is awesome . Its way better than all those other "funny" shows. This is actually funny, unlike some other crap cough-Joey-cough. this season. Anyway season three is awesome like every other season.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great writing and funny, May 2 2011
Great writing, funny, and well acted! The dream sequences and split scenes are particularly enjoyable, and the characters continue to develop. Lots of fun, even more so if you grew up in that era.

In the real 1970s, nobody went around declaring the year and the date. In the real 1970s, nobody seemed to want them -- many TV shows were period pieces and the decade seemed to limp and plod along. The young people who star in this show would be lost in the real 1970s - no Internet; no cable; and (gasp)! no cell phones or text messaging.
Good period pieces like "The Waltons," "Little House on the Prairie" for example don't keep reminding viewers of the time frame. Clothing, implements and the issues of the day help focus viewers on the time period and not a weak, lame title like "That 70s Show."
