These islands are alive and even if there was no story I would still want to explore it. The freedom to do whatever you want, when you want is a big factor in this escapist game. But it's also the enlightening and emotional experiences. Like after climbing to the top of a shaky radio tower you stop to admire the breathtaking sunset. Or after exploring some ruins on a small island to gather relics you happen to spot some manta rays swimming in the waters nearby. Maybe it's just chilling with the natives over a game of Texas Hold'Em. Gunner boats have weight that makes them slow to maneuver and they sway the way watercraft does. I went looking for a relic that entailed swimming underwater in a narrow cave. But I couldn't find my way back and I drowned. This place is rich with events and details that need to be experienced.

Far Cry 3 can be played any way you want. I concentrated on the story missions and activating all the towers for the first playthrough. It opened the map but without liberating outposts I had to be constantly aware of enemy patrols and to race, hide or fight. Once the story was finished I worked on everything else, including doing side missions and gathering the collectibles. But like other action games with some role-playing elements, taking on side missions will build up both your skills and assets such that the latter part of the story will be easier to accomplish. The third act, primarily on the southern island, and a shift to a newer, stronger enemy will be more challenging!

The value I got out of this game far exceeds its purchase price. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone. This isn't one that deserves to wait until it gets discounted. Actually, good word-of-mouth and critical reviews will probably keep demand up for quite some time. This game is fun!

This game has a great story, great graphics, great controls. Only experienced a minor bug with an outpost not being liberated. The instant dlc is 800 MP or $10.00 CAD. It doesn't add any value to the game. It only adds a few missions two animals, and nothing to the story

This game is superb. The living breathing island is massive, you can spend hours just climbing up mountains to jump off of them into the excellent scenery. The animals behave in such an honest way, it's like a living ecosystem. This is the most fun I've had playing a far cry game.

Far cry 3 is a great game. Story line with characters who are doing insane things but they still feel real. Plenty to do around the island with all the side quests and collectibles. Unfortunately, joining an online match takes a very long time.

This game has had extremely high reviews from all the major critics. I am a big gamer and I have to say that this is one of the best games I've ever played. I would buy another copy if I lost mine, no doubt.

Great open world game giving you 30 plus hours alone on the single player.... co op campaign is very fun to play with a group of friends ( you and 3 others max)....the online is ok but i wouldnt recommend this game just for the online if your going to buy it get it for the single player.....overall great value for your money.

My son plays this more than I do, ( it was after all his Xmas gift, love the scenery, the feel of it , very well made, like it better than Assassin's creed

If you like the battlefield series and skyrim then far cry 3 is the perfect game for you. Graphics 5/5 gameplay 4.5/5 multiplayer 3.5/5 replayability 4/5
