5.0 out of 5 stars Paperwhite Kindle cover
My Kindle paperwhite was purchased in the US and I then ordered the cover, specifically made for the paperwhite once back home in Canada. The cover is just fantastic. Like it says, fits the paperwhite to a "T". And the idea that a magnet (somewhere) keeps the cover closed securely, is super. Also when opening the cover it "wakes" up your kindle OR in reverse closing...

3.0 out of 5 stars should be even lighter
I wanted this cover and I am still using it for the magnet that turns the kindle on and off. But I feel it adds too much weight and volume. Admittedly, the kindle paperwhite is very light and thin so that may be difficult but I think it should be possible. It's mostly the back of the case that adds weight and I guess it's to add also protection but I don't see that as...

5.0 out of 5 stars Paperwhite Kindle cover, Jan 26 2013
My Kindle paperwhite was purchased in the US and I then ordered the cover, specifically made for the paperwhite once back home in Canada. The cover is just fantastic. Like it says, fits the paperwhite to a "T". And the idea that a magnet (somewhere) keeps the cover closed securely, is super. Also when opening the cover it "wakes" up your kindle OR in reverse closing puts it to sleep which eliminates having to push the button to turn on and off. Lightweight, easy to handle. I LOVE my paperwhite leather cover.

5.0 out of 5 stars Premium Cover, Jan 28 2013

I love this cover as it is moulded to the Kindle PW. No silly straps holding it in, it is perfect.
The cover also folds back on itself fully which my leather cover for Kindle keyboard never did.
This makes reading in bed on my side with the cover on a lot easier.
I love that it sleeps the Kindle when closed and it starts up again when opened.
My only complaint, which really isn't a complaint as such, is that the colour is darker than it appears in the photo. It is more of a dark purple, but I still love this cover as well as my PW.

This review is from: Amazon Kindle Paperwhite Leather Cover, Ink Blue (Accessory)
Well, I'm impressed with this one. Even though it's a tad expensive, I don't regret the purchase. It's lighter and thinner than the cheaper leather cases I've owned for my other Kindle, and it seems to be more durable, too. It fits the Paperwhite like a glove (actually, better than a glove, really), and it's nice to have a cover that puts the Kindle to sleep when closed. A must-have for Paperwhite owners, in my opinion.

3.0 out of 5 stars should be even lighter, Mar 17 2013

Admittedly, the kindle paperwhite is very light and thin so that may be difficult but I think it should be possible. It's mostly the back of the case that adds weight and I guess it's to add also protection but I don't see that as necessary and I would gladly compromise on that for less weight.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stylish, well made, and a great accompaniment to the Paperwhite!, Jan 30 2013

This case is a must have for Kindle Paperwhite owners. The case holds the Paperwhite very snugly, and doesn't add a lot of bulk or weight to the Paperwhite. The cover can comfortably fold behind the device for a comfortable reading experience. My favorite feature by far is how the magnets in the case give the Paperwhite a "close/open awareness". When you close the case, it puts the Paperwhite to sleep. Likewise, when you open the case, it powers the Paperwhite up. Overall, adds a fantastic aesthetic to the Paperwhite and adds protection as well!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic cover, Jan 31 2013
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I previously owned a 3rd generation Kindle, the keyboard version, and had the lighted leather cover for that. Got this cover for my new paperwhite and I'm very satisfied with it. Unlike the old lighted cover I had, this is MUCH thinner and lighter, it adds very little bulk to the paperwhite. It is also very comfortable/easy to fold it back on itself for one-handed reading. The magnetic latch is far more convenient than the old strap, it's powerful enough to stay shut but I don't feel like it slams shut at all. Wake/sleep screen works as advertised and saves you a bit of time hitting the power button. The paperwhite fits very securely in the case, however I did not find it hard at all to put it in. Taking it out is not horribly difficult but does take a bit of effort, but it's such a compact, convenient case that I can't imagine removing my kindle from it. I have the black cover, and it looks very professional and clean; physically, the leather has a nice feel to it, and I find I have a better grip on it than just the back of the paperwhite without the cover.

Overall, I'm really pleased with the case, I think it's worth the price even if it seems high, this is a really well-made, classy-looking product and stuff like the automatic sleep/wake do save you time. Also, I'd recommend not worrying about size/weight with the case, it is much more compact and lightweight than the old covers so I'd recommend it without hesitation.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great case, May 8 2013

Great case, holds the kindle paperwhite really well, great color. The only thing they say its leather, but seriously it's faux leather, not the real thing.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great cover but a bit heavy, May 5 2013

Pros: protection and convenience
Cons: weight and price

I love the light weight of the kindle itself, my hand doesn't get tired holding it for hours. But this cover nearly doubles the weight of the Paperwhite, and that's cumbersome. It also does add some bulk. I'm not sure it could be made any lighter and still do what it needs to do, but it is something I notice.

All in all, the weight sacrifice is worth it. I love the convenience of snapping it shut and throwing it in my bag, no worries about the screen getting scratched, and no fussy clasps or elastics to muck around with. The cover allows you to charge with it on, which wasn't so with the ultra lightweight sleeve I made myself from awesome neon chartreuse spandex :)

I also love the way the cover wakes the Kindle when I open it. Not like the button is so hard to push, but that extra little feature just makes it so much easier. I often used to put my previous Kindles down without sleeping them, since they would go into it on their own eventually and it used no power to sit on the page. But now with the backlight, there is some power drain when I'm not looking at it, so being able to really easily close it and turn off that light for a couple minutes is nice.

I got the purple and it's a lovely colour. I previously had a black cover purchased in-store, but I decided to liven it up a bit with the purple. The black was nice because you couldn't see any border around the Kindle. The purple is dark enough that the slight border difference isn't distracting. Once you get into a good book, you don't notice things like that at all.

My only other complaint is the cost. At $40, it's over 30% the cost of the device itself. Because of that, I've never bothered with cases for my previous Kindles, but with the Paperwhite I think they finally got it just right and I'm not intending to replace it any time soon, so I bit the bullet and bought a decent case this time.

3.0 out of 5 stars Persimmon Inaccurate Color, Feb 20 2013
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought the Persimmon Kindle Paperwhite cover.

The color of the actual product is not that close to the picture on Amazon's website. The website photo is very bright orange, while the actual product is much darker and more reddish.

The fit is excellent. It's fairly expensive ($39.99) for what you get.
