I'm not usually surprised by music I buy, especially when it's an artist I'm familiar with and enjoy. Not this time. With Suzanne Ciani, it's always been a given that her piano music would be fantastic, beautiful and thoroughly enjoyable. I didn't even read the synopsis about the CD. I simply purchased it on her name alone which has always been good enough. Again, not this time.

This CD has no piano music. It is all synthesizer and electronic. It's mostly a collection of sonic clips. Nine of the 16 tracks are less than 60 seconds. Several are less than 30 seconds and a couple less than 10 seconds. The longest piece is just over 9 minutes of almost mono-tone electronic annoyance.

This CD is for those into electronic synthesized sounds, not music. I guess if you're stoned it might be enjoyable. Otherwise I'd definitely skip this offering from Suzanne Ciani. Such a disappointment.
