This review is from: Western Digital My Book 3.0 1 TB USB 3.0 Desktop External Hard Drive with PCIe Adapter Card (Personal Computers)
The PCi card installation was flawless and easy. Downloaded the updated firmware for both the card and drive easily from Western Digital's excellent support website. The drive's speed is simply AWE-mazing ! My computer always finds this very stable drive at every boot. Very nice to have an extra USB 3.0 port on the card for future expansion. Using the drive for iTunes has increased the pleasure of using iTunes by 1,000%. My extensive iTunes library of over 600GB of mainly Movies and TV shows opens instantly now. I usually had to wait at least a minute or two before for my library would open completely when I was using my old USB 2.0 external drive. I use an external Firewire 800 drive for iTunes on my other Mac computer and the speed of this USB 3.0 drive absolutely blows away the Firewire 800 speed with my Mac. If Apple was smart, they'd dump Firewire 800 for USB 3.0 right away. But for now, my Mac iTunes can only eat the dust from my PC's iTunes USB 3.0 powered library !
