I, too, am a fan of Stephanic Plum and her funny lighthearted mayhem. This book takes many of the elements of that series and puts them together badly. Old characters turning up can be fun, but they still need to move the plot along. Here they seem boring. A vital conversation between two characters are constantly delayed for no good reason. You start wondering if the author simply forgot where they were going. This book needed some serious editing.
