This review is from: Pro ASP.NET 4 in C# 2010, Fourth Edition (Paperback)
This book is not what I expected of a "Pro" version. Much of the book describes the technology. The topics are widespread so that one gets a good overview of what things are and where they fit, but I found the coverage to be shallow. The downloadable code provides completed examples, but it was not always clear to me how they were created. The book clearly states that the examples are also in the simplest format - that of a web site - instead of the more complicated, but more versatile web project format. Lastly, the book appears to me to have been written for Visual Studio 2008 and then edited for VS 2010. I found unexpected references to VS 2008, and I don't think all menu selection sequence and terms matched those of VS 2010. I found it tedious to try to find the correct sequences and terms, and I didn't always trust the results I got.
