Well i'm not a big fan of this band, in fact i'm listening to this album in its entirety for the very first time right now. I guess this goes without saying but the Hives are still stuck in the grunge-rock sound which to me, is a little boring and offers little variation to work with. Now that i've said that, this album is a very good collection of high-energy songs that will make you feel exhilerated and sometimes as out of breath as the singer must be. I can't really point out any favourite tracks because, like i said, i'm only listening to the whole record for the first time right now. One of the good things is this is a very consistent record. Theres nothing on here that will jump out from the rest DRASTICALLY, but every song is well played, catchy, and just that much different from the rest of the songs to make each its own. Something the Hives have that alot of the other bands from this scene don't is their ability to create an album of songs without making them all run together and sound like a bunch of re-worked versions of the same song. This is a really likable record, even if you're not really into the whole grunge/rock scene...these guys are different enough to stand out.
