i buy the imports,
This review is from: Remote Part (Audio CD)
i'll be honest and put my bias out immediately: i love idlewild. i listen to them constantly. i never wait for the u.s. release dates of their albums. such was the case for The Remote Part, and it was worth the effort of tracking it down. The Remote Part shows the progression a band should take in their music; yes, there is less of a punky sound (though 'a modern way of letting go' fills that void) but there are plenty of good, solid rock tunes to compensate. admittedly, 100 Broken Windows is still my favorite of theirs, but The Remote Part shows a lot of growth in the band. the craft of the songs is greatly improved, creative, and evidence of what idlewild will be able to accomplish when the next album comes out.
you will not be disappointed.
