Caution, do your research.,
This review is from: Nest Learning Thermostat - 1st Generation T100577 (Tools & Hardware)
Before you get to caught up in what "Cool Stuff" it can do, which is why I would like one.
Read Amazon.com review with S. Greene, I believe, whom highlights a problem with power failure and sub-zero temperatures.
In short if power failure occurs NEST may drain internal battery thus allowing home to freeze thus water pipes may burst thus house floods.
OK if you're in town but not so good if you're out of town or the country.
Something to consider.
If NEST can guarantee or re-engineer the module to have an extended battery life / safety feature for freezing conditions I'm all in. I do like the idea of this unit but have been reserved about the potential flooding that may occur whilst away.
