About the Author

Ferdinand Oyono, romancier camerounais francophone, est né en 1929 à N'Goulémakong. Tout en suivant des études de droit et de sciences politiques à Paris, il publie ses premiers romans en 1956 : Une vie de boy et Le Vieux Nègre et la médaille. Après la parution de Chemin d'Europe, en 1960, Ferdinand Oyono obtient d'importantes fonctions diplomatiques dans son pays - il sera ambassadeur du Cameroun à Paris de 1964 à 1975, avant de devenir ministre de la Culture.
