I just spent about an hour checking out 1000 Vegan Recipes and am very impressed. I am a former caterer/chef and am pretty good at eyeballing a recipe and determining if I will like it. It is obvious from the amazing assortment of recipes that Robin Robertson is a professional chef and has years (25) of experience.

This book is jammed full of wonderful recipes! I am not a vegan, but cook increasingly so and really needed a good vegan cookbook--1,000 Vegan Recipes is it!

This book has everything, including a recipe for seitan. I just bought seitan and was taken aback at its cost--$5.00 for 8 ounces! It was delicious, however and I planned to buy it again. Now, however, with the recipe Robertson provides, I can make my own which will be much cheaper and most likely, much better!

I like the explanations for all things vegan throughout the book.

There are tons of recipes I cannot wait to make. I have other vegetarian/vegan books, but sense this one will be my "go-to" cookbook!

This is a very good vegan cookbook for the gourmet cook who likes to throw dinner parties. It's definetly not for the every day cook. However, this said, there are so many recipes that I am sure anyone could find one or two that would be favourites, and this cookbook will serve for years to come.

I purchased this book about 6 months ago and I think everyone needs this book in their cookbook library. As a matter of fact if this is the only Vegan cookbook you have you will be able to cook from it for a very long time as you will be making dishes over and over again. The recipes are amazing. I have cooked from this almost every day since I bought it and EVERY recipe has turned out amazing!! The flavours are delicious and the recipes are easy to follow with ingredients that every vegan has in their home. I gave one to a friend of mine who is not vegan, not even vegetarian and she loves the recipes as well. I highly recommend this book!!

I have owned and used this book for the past 4 years, ever since becoming vegan, and I figure it is about time to write a review for my favourite cook book by far. I have probably cooked well over 100 recipes from this book, and incredibly every single one of them has turned out to be amazing and delicious. It is very well organized, with types of food grouped together nicely. Whether I am craving rice & beans for dinner, or something with tofu, or seitan, or you name it veggie dish, I just look up the ingredient/theme in the index and jump there, only to find several related and delicious sounding recipes all packed together. Other times I will just randomly browse the book before going out to get groceries for the week when I need ideas and usually find many good options within a few pages of browsing. I actually often take pictures of the recipes that I like with my cell phone and use them as my shopping list at the grocery store.
I think one of my favourite things about the book as well is its consistent and concise format for presenting the recipes. I really don't have a lot of time to waste on reading pages and pages of text as some cook books tend to do with ingredients and directions spread out all over the place. Instead, every recipe in this book has a descriptive title followed by a very short 1-2 sentence giving an overview of the recipe, followed by the ingredient list in order that they appear in the recipe, followed by a numbered list of each of the steps. That is all that is needed, and it is perfect in my opinion, no babbling stories, no pictures randomly splattered around, just exactly what you need to make delicious meals right where you need it.

I like how complete and varied it is. It makes me think of a healthier and vegan version of the Betty Crocker cookbook I used to love. I tried more than 60 recipes up to now. As with any other cookbook there were some I didn't like, but I liked most of them, and loved many of them. I usually only buy cookbooks with pictures, but really the recipes here are so tempting and the layout nice enough that I never feel the need for pictures.
