About the Author

Lorrie Jones, MBSR, BSN, NLP, CYI and Founder of Simple Serenity LLC and Living Mindfully Today, has personally tried numerous diets, only to gain and lose a combined total of 1,900 pounds over a 10-year period. The way she finally healed was by letting go of the compulsion to “fix” herself with thinness. Through meditation and mindful practices, Lorrie began to dismantle the myth of perfection and let go of the ties it had on her life. By learning to eat mindfully and intuitively, Lorrie not only healed her own relationship with food, she changed her entire life. For over 25 years Lorrie has been helping people transform their relationship with food and eating and reclaim their self worth and self respect. As a wellness practitioner, educator and coach, Lorrie has served individuals, groups, and hospitals with her expertise in eating behaviors, stress reduction and mind-body healing. As the only person in Washington State certified to teach Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Lorrie offers a conscious, creative and compassionate approach to personal renewal and mindful practices for health and well-being.
