Update on June 16/2014. The manufacturer read my comment here. Emailed me and asked me a few simple questions and sent me a new one which works. Excellent service.
It's portable to fit inside a jacket pocket. So when I'm out the whole day i can just charge my phone in my pocket.
Also the flashlight is an added bonus, it is very bright and last a very long time (something like 36 hours of continuous use)
come in handy in a power outage, and best thing, if you out of power for days you can charge it in your car.
But that aside, using as a cell charger is amazing. Would HIGHLY recommend it.
the rest are for x-mas gifts =)
So far it's working out very well. She's not really into tech but sees them as tools but she was pretty excited about this battery pack and really appreciates to convenience and well peace of mind it provides.
though we've only had it for a month we Highly recommend this product.
Anker contacted me directly about my purchase and product experience.
Long story short - they offered a free replacement for the same product.
I told them I would pay extra to get the next step up battery - to my surprise they offered to ship me the replacement of Anker Astro Pro 10000mAh Multi-Voltage External Battery for FREE!
Now, this IS THE CUSTOMER SERVICE I am talking about!
I wish more companies would have such great customer service!!!
the replacement I received worked like a charm! I guess I did get a lemon with my first purchase...go figure:)
I appreciate Anker for following up with me so promptly!
As i was looking for a battery back up for my Samsung galaxy s2, i decided to buy this one.
The initial anker charge was quick.
First time I had to use it was when went camping in July. The unit charges my s2 VERY SLOW. unless i got a lemon unit... Don't know.
My battery was down to 13%, i plugged s2 and in the morning i only saw about 60% only. I had to keep on pressing a button on anker unit so it kept on charging my phone. Was it in the sleeping mode?... Don't know.
Again, just came back from camping. Same story. Was down to 30-35% and only got charged to 58% in the morning. Strange and annoying!
At this point i don't know what to do. Im out of $45 smth.
We travel a lot and i wanted to have a piece of mind. I guess i won't.
My 2 cents.

If you need USB battery packs, buy them from Anker! I only support these guys. Their mAh levels are accurate and their built quality is terrific! Read morePublished 3 months ago by Robert A
Very nice. I've had occasions where it seems to drain quicker than I'd expect when a device is left plugged in and fully charged. Read morePublished 3 months ago by D. Burrows
Bought this October 2014, only used once a week or so.... not charging right now, one light would light up while charging and turn off after a few seconds.Published 4 months ago by Vickie Cheung
Lost a lot of efficiency after moderate usage. Internal battery might be of average quality.Published 6 months ago by LEKO
This Power Pack was much used on a recent trip to Israel. To recharge a tablet used 3/4 of the stored power. A cell phone only used 1/4 of the power.Published 6 months ago by Pugzy C.
Portability is awesome - great if your power needs are relatively small and dont want to haul around a iPad-sized 20Ah brickPublished 7 months ago by saudor
