This is a replacement for the nozzle that came with my wand and clogged. I purchased an in-line filter to place between the hose and the wand after reading other Amazon reviews while researching this nozzle purchase. I spray things other than water and my well water can be a bit gritty. The filter came highly recommended by the pros. and should greatly extend the life of any nozzle. This nozzle has 1/4" threads so it was simply a matter of unscrewing the clogged nozzle and, with a little tape, screwing this nozzle onto the end of my spray gun. The red dot in the picture is not used to adjust spray angle or from high or low pressure. It may be a pressure release safety mechanism but is not labeled. This product comes with no instructions which wasn't a problem.
When I replaced it, the new pump had a screw-on.
I screwed the old quick disconnect Into this fitting, and screwed it on the new pump to use the old hose.
Saved me from buying new hose & wand !
