-to be mounted on a swivel between kitchen and dining area so I can watch while I am cooking and while I am seating at a position where I can not see the living room TV. I will use certain apps from android that are not available on Windows 8 yet, stick a NUC on the back of it with Windows 8 and use it's multy source touch/keyboard switch. In addition, I will use the 3rd source (VGA) to mirror what ever is being played at the living room TV.
So far, I have only used it with the build in android and only tested the touch under Win8 for a few minutes. The screen is good, glossy which is not a problem for me, and the colors are not saturated.
I have only 2 complains so far - switching between inputs is a bit slow and with the touch buttons the feedback is missing; there is a secondary external bezel that houses the logo and touch buttons which is also sticking out like 1/4". Weird design and bulky.
This is the only Android AIO with 2 extra inputs on the market that I found. In addition, most competitors don't have 2GB ram nor a IPS screen.
Works in progress...will be updating as I progress with my project. You can ask me questions meanwhile.
Edit1: Discovered screen has poor latency - when scrolling left and right in Windows 8 app store, icons ghost like crazy. Not an issue for me, but for some it might be a deal breaker.
Aside from my queries to AOC, other observations was that the packaging is a little on the cheap side, but no problems observed. Switching between the different modes is a little inconvenient. It would be nice if it used infrared remote, which could also automate switching.
HAs plenty of inputs. A good quality screen also.
Mounted using a metal french cleat and low voltage media box so that no wires show and both power and HDMI cables are easily accessible. Design has nice side slots for USB and other connections too.
Haven't used it but it is also great for Skype and such while in the kitchen.
Volume does not go up very loud but we have a large kitchen and it seems to be adequate.
