I bought 4 different Thermal Pastes, two on Amazon (MX-4 and Kryonaut Thermal greases) and two from Newegg (Noctua NT-H1 and Artic Silver 5).

I used a Ryzen 9 3900x @ 4.3GHz and remounted twice per paste.
The Kryonaut took first place, with a 2C win over the next competitor
The Arctic Silver 5 was the next competitor which had a 1C win over the next competitor
The MX-4 and NT-H1 both tied.

Now factor in the quantity per tube, the price and the performance. Is 3C better performance worth the $15 AD for 1g of Kryonaut? Nope.
The Arctic Silver 5 was $12 CAD for 3.5g so you get 3.5x more paste for $3 less than the Kryonaut. That's $3,42 CAD for 1g of Arctic Silver 5 vs the $15 CAD for 1g of Kryonaut. Common now.
Enter the MX-4 and Noctua Pastes..

The MX-4 was $10 for 4g or $2,50 CAD for 1g
The NT-H1 was $10 for 3.5g or $2.86 CAD for 1g
Since these two both tied than the MX-4 is the better buy.

Given the performance difference and cost then its easy to recommend the MX-4. I don't see a compelling reason to get any of the other pastes.

Effective performance for home users

Very very effective at time of purchase. Unless you are running a PC repair shop or plan on re-greasing every thermal interface in your house it will likely expire before you can use all of it, but the performance more than makes up for it.

I was able to cool a 45w i7 (Ivy Bridge) in a laptop typically designed for 35wTDP. The heavy magnesium case helped me there but this product also helped significantly reduce thermal load on other devices in my house
