The best introductory book for print designers currently making the leap to web from a type design standpoint. It clearly explains every facet you need to know without complex jargon & assumptions, but with current examples that are relevant. Recommended and a keeper.
I read several reviews on amazon.com before purchasing this book. Thought it would be good, but was sorely disappointed. It has lots of pictures and examples of concepts. BUT it is really light on a good explanation and approach to employing these design principles. Even the pictures of the web sites are too small in many cases to really see it well. Not a very good reference book at all! This is more a coffee table book.
A much better book is:
The Principles of Beautiful Web Design by Jason Beaird (098057689X)
