Please be aware that on Amazon the size of the product shown is VERY LARGE or perhaps i should say that the packaging photograph shown is misleading as it is shown as a very large jar.

If you look closely it's only 20 grams. Personally I was able to find Organika brand 40 grams Charcoal for $11.99 instead of paying almost $50 for this one. Hence returning it.

I did some research: Called my dentist; they said it might be abrasive. I called the ADA (American Dental Association); they referred me to a site of theirs which indicated that it might be abrasive to the teeth, yet no study has been done on it. I called Active Wow, and found out that the
RDA (Relative Dentin Abrasion) factor of their product is 68 which is mild. If you google "relative dentin abrasivity chart" you will find out that
0-70 = mild; 71-100 = medium; 101-150 = high; and 151-250 = harmful. The stronger the whitening toothpaste; the more abrasive it is (most are
high to harmful).

So, here is my insight:

1) Tooth Enamel is strong, but not impervious to wear, and will not grow back. Dentin is the rest of the tooth, and is much softer which is why
most cavities occur below the gum line. The chart refers to Dentin, not enamel, so consider that.

2) The ADA will probably not do any study on Charcoal's effectiveness because dentists make MONEY on whitening teeth, and as you might know
this Country is all about the bottom line.

3) After contacting Active Wow, I was told that they are conducting an independent study and will post the results on their site.

4) Most toothpaste is more abrasive than Active Wow's Activated Coconut Charcoal Powder.

My personal results. Although Active Wow told me that twice a day for three weeks is the best way to see results, I am only doing so daily, yet after three weeks, the Tea stains are disappearing. The extra benefit is that the smell I noticed after getting two root canals is not present any longer. Without elaborating too much, the dentist told me to take a rubber tipped device and push it below the gum line where there is some space.
For years before the root canals, I would remove white blood cells (puss) from the pockets in my tonsils on a regular basis. Once my wisdom teeth
which were quite cavity prone were removed and I had the two root canals, the puss was only occasional, but the smell was there all the time;
same smell as the puss globules. It was always a logical deduction that the purpose of the tonsils is to help keep the teeth healthy, thus the puss.
So the benefit of using carbon with attached oxygen molecules is the extra cleaning that my teeth are getting as I brush daily with a soft tooth brush using Active Wow's product. My assessment is that both the carbon and oxygen are attaching to bacteria, especially below the gum line,
doing their work to keep my mouth clean. I could use only this as toothpaste. To me, the chemical cleaning by using this product will possibly
be noticed in time in future visits to the dentist.
