That's pretty much it. The trek had some numerous encounters with danger, but I found myself getting bored. Sorry Jaden. For a planet that freezes over every night it sure did have an abundance of green vegetation and animals. Anybody else scratching their head on that one?
On the plus side, this science fiction incorporates advances based on discoveries with nano technology. It is the next step in science fiction writing. Jaden's suit could sense a predator and would change color similar to my Nokia Morph concept phone sensing toxins on my apple.
Honestly, the Asylum mock buster had a better plot. Wait for the rental.
Parental Guide: No F-bombs, sex, or nudity.
It is unforgivable for a science fiction film to be boring, and this one is in spades. Even the action sequences are rather simplistic and ho hum. Given that the story is absolutely ludicrous, even for a science fiction film, makes this film a horrendous experience for the viewer. I really feel sorry for those people who paid big bucks to see this movie in the theatre.
The fact that Will Smith's acting is so wooden in this film that it is embarrassing. None of the charisma that his fans are used to seeing is anywhere to be seen in this film.
Finally, this film is another example of the artistic decline of the promising director M. Night Shayamalan. He is still trying to capture the magic of his first two films with Bruce Willis. Sad.
What a shame. If he was to do a science film, he should have chose a much better vehicle.
I had no idea M Night Syamalan was involved in this, it doesn't make sense.. usually he waits till the end to reveal the big plot twist but we find it out in the first 20 minutes SPOILER: they landed on earth. If there was another twist at the end I sadly missed it as I only sat through about an hour of this movie and that was it for me.
This could of have been so much better....it disappointed on a few levels.
Will Smith's character was really dry and he was not able to 'do much' with it.
It seemed quite boring...while there was opportunity for some great scenes, they failed, and simply didn't grasp you.
I found the props to be cheap looking at every turn.
Concept was good but execution was poor in my opinion.
Leave this 1 until it is free on TV...

There's better, less predictable stuff out there, but it's a nice little time waster.Published 3 months ago by Rayne Bryon
First of all, I think we all know that this movie was probably a favor to Will Smith to allow his son to take center stage after all of the other bad acting that he's done as a... Read morePublished 6 months ago by Kenneth J. Hickey
Probably the worst movie of the last millennium, possibly history of man kind, even before movies even existed. Read morePublished 10 months ago by koolz03
Definitely a kid's movie. Special effects were pretty good. Smith is, as usual, excellent; Jaden shows considerable promise. Read morePublished 11 months ago by D
