There is one major problem: the UTM eastings are given throughout the entire province relative to zone 12. Unfortunately, everything in Alberta west of Calgary (114 W) is zone 11. If you are sitting in Alberta anywhere west of 114W, and you measure a location in UTM on your GPS receiver, you should *correctly* get zone 11 coordinates, which are useless with this atlas.
Working across zone boundaries is always difficult in UTM. However, CCCMaps decided to generate an atlas as large as a province despite the zone boundary difficulties, and without properly addressing the zone boundary issues. The result is an atlas that looks nice without a messy zone change, is entirely useable for road-following navigation as long as you know where you are, but is useless for GPS-guided navigation when west of Calgary -- without any warning.
This atlas proudly displays a "GPS Compatible" label right on the front, but this is dangerously wrong.
