The monitor is top quality and sturdy. Height, tilt and swivel adjustments are very nicely done and
not as flimsy as on my older Samsung monitor. Screen colours are vibrant and refresh rate is great for gaming. I use the monitor as my main one in a two 27 inch setup, and use it for coding, gaming, office work and more. It is a well rounded monitor that does well in all areas, not just gaming.
Some reviews mention that the text does not appear as clearly on screen but this has not been my experience at all.
I'd whole heartedly recommend this monitor to anyone looking for an excellent 1440p display for gaming and all around use such as office work and programming.
First and foremost, the 27-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) display is a visual delight. The colors are vibrant and accurate, with 100% sRGB coverage, making games look stunningly lifelike. The VESA DisplayHDR 600 support enhances the contrast and brightness, delivering immersive gaming experiences with deep blacks and brilliant highlights.
The standout feature here is the 180Hz refresh rate, which can be overclocked to achieve a remarkable 1ms response time. Gaming on this monitor feels buttery-smooth, and there's no hint of ghosting or motion blur. Whether you're playing fast-paced shooters or exploring expansive RPG worlds, the Alienware AW2724DM keeps up with the action flawlessly. Just keep in mind you need to use a DisplayPort for that native 165hz, as you only get 144hz with an HDMI.
What's more, it's not just about the raw performance; this monitor is also packed with features. It's AMD FreeSync Premium Pro certified and NVIDIA G-SYNC compatible, ensuring tear-free gaming no matter your GPU preference. The customizable AlienFX lighting adds a cool aesthetic touch to your gaming setup, allowing you to sync the lighting effects with your other Alienware peripherals.
The build quality is top-notch, with a sleek black design and ergonomic adjustability, so you can find the perfect viewing angle. The on-screen display menu is intuitive and easy to navigate, making it simple to fine-tune your monitor settings.
In conclusion, the Alienware AW2724DM Gaming Monitor is a game-changer for any serious gamer. With its outstanding display quality, lightning-fast refresh rate, and compatibility with both AMD and NVIDIA graphics cards, it's hard to find a better gaming monitor on the market. While it's an investment, the visual feast it offers is worth every penny for those who demand the best in their gaming setup. Highly recommended!

I waited two years for this monitor to come down in price and it was delivered damaged. This is not my fault. I even offered to keep it with maybe a discount. No go.
I called Dell and after some photos were exchanged and I followed instructions to try and clean the glass with isopropyl and a micro-fibre cloth to no avail, I was told that a new screen would be sent.
I would also not have to wait until they received the scratched one back but I just had to put the damaged one in the box the new one is coming in and use the prepaid return label that will be supplied. All at no cost to me.
Now THAT is customer service.
Apparently this is an older model that had no screen protector just tape and bubble wrap which left a ton of scratches. Or it was returned already. Guess that's why the sale price....
Not recommended unless you go directly to the manufacturer.

1. The screen looks purple under bright lighting.
2. You need a display port (I use type-c to display 1.4) to reach the 360 hz.
The stand quality is really really good, and I felt it is a premium stand.
The colors are accurate and it’s beautiful.
Personally, I enjoyed the HDR 600. Not the best HDR but it’s more than enough for me!
The leds behind the monitor aren’t very bright so I bought myself leds.
180Hz is very smooth. I used to have a 60Hz monitor so it’s definitely an upgrade for me.
If you have money to spend for a new monitor, I recommend this monitor!

[Some gripes I have]
Firstly the packaging it came in, though good, needs serious improvement. Primarily the wrapping it comes in leaves bubble wrap stains on the display which looks abysmal and though some reports claim they were never able to get these markings off their panels, mine came off with just a bit of screen cleaner and a good wipe.
I also dislike that there's no ability to personally upgrade the firmware. This results in having to buy an entirely new panel if a better firmware becomes available and that's a bit asinine with how expensive this display is.
The blacks aren't super good if you're in a bright room due to problems with ambient lighting, which could take away from the enjoyment you get from the display, so it's, in my opinion anyways, most enjoyable in a darker room which is primarily where Im using it.
No HDMI 2.1 which is extremely disappointing as this hurts the ability to use this monitor in its full capacity on a gaming console. That doesn't affect me however because I have an LG 55 inch oled for just such the occasion and primarily pc game. Fortunately for me.
The ultra wide aspect of this display has been.. an adjustment period as well. Although overall the quality of this is, as aforementioned, incredible, it's worth pointing out that it takes a lot of adjusting if you're coming from your typical 16:9 displays and you'll see this primarily in things like watching YouTube videos, movies, and in some video games. You especially notice the difference in one of my worst examples, the game Hell Let Loose. I absolutely cannot play it in 21:9 whatsoever. Just cannot. It's so stretched out and hideous looking that it almost made me nauseous. And that sucks primarily because that's one of my favorite games, and 16:9 leaves black bars on the sides of the game which isn't a huge deal but I digress. So expect not all your games to look ideal to you when getting this and potentially having to compromise.
[Praise and tips]
Frankly I just don't have anything short of absolute praise for this display. I've found the best experience to be sitting back a few feet from my desk with a controller, or my wireless mouse and keyboard upon my lap-table. I personally use HDR 400 true black over the HDR 1000 option because it truly, in my opinion of course, looks insanely better, darker, significant and more atmospheric this was especially true in the modern warfare 2 campaign.
Overall I'm greatly enjoying this display, I hope it lasts me a very long time as I baby it about as much as someone could possibly recommend babying an OLED. I personally use brave browser with the darkreader extension, use windows dark theme, a Screensaver after 2 minutes of not being at my desk, I hide my Taskbar, and I make sure that in any games there's no static red anywhere. I absolutely love that after four hours of use on this panel, when shut off it'll do an automatic pixel refresh. Now that doesn't mean this panel is susceptible to any burn-in whatsoever, it is an oled panel after all..but with a lot of TLC and awareness of what you have on your display, the likeliness of it burning in is about as likely as a meteor striking your house and even if SOMEHOW you do everything I recommend and it still burns in, well Dell has your back with a three year warranty. Just make sure you register it on their website when you get the display. However, and I cannot stress this enough whatsoever, this display, much like any oled display, is probably not the ideal choice if you're somebody who works from home and sits infront of their computer for an asinine amount of time. This is pretty much ideal for gamers who game for long periods of time where stuff is happening on the screen constantly.
Again though, Im loving this display, it has been nothing short of a game changer for me and leaves me excited for the future of oled monitors. I'm in no rush to upgrade my pc to a 4090 an 13900k to game in 4k 120fps, and as an owner of both a 4k oled and now this, there really isn't that HARDCORE of a noticeable difference imo and this is perfect for my current pc specs. Couldn't be happier, couldn't rate this higher, trust me you're going to want this badboy when it comes back and isn't being scalped for 1600.

I decided to just try an OLED monitor to see what the difference would be, and even though the Alienware is significantly more expensive, I simply can't go back. The colors, clarity, settings, construction and connectivity are incredible.
Attached are images compared to my high-end laptop screen and 27" IPS. The contrast, colors, and clarity are just amazing. I am a software developer (not a gamer), so the deep blacks and color accuracy make working in editors extremely pleasant. If there was one complaint, the text isn't quite as sharp as I would like (mainly dark text on light backgrounds) due to a side effect of OLED technology, but you get used to it. I also tempted my fate by ordering "Used - Acceptable" from Amazon to save several hundred dollars, and to be honest it appears to be completely unused. All original packaging items were present, and the screen/panel didn't even have a single fingerprint.
All in all, it seems that I prefer Dell monitors, and this Alienware does not disappoint. Even though I paid several hundred dollars more than I wanted, you get what you pay for. And if your livelihood is staring at monitors for 6-8 hours a day like me, it's completely worth it.
