Product Description

From School Library Journal

Grade 1-3-Colorful, child-friendly, watercolor paintings take readers step-by-step through 20 easy crafts. The materials needed are easy to find and are shown at the beginning of each spread. Most projects involve cutting and gluing. Some also require simple drawing and hand lettering a message. None of the activities appear in Ross's Crafts for Valentine's Day (Millbrook, 1995). This book is not quite as attractive as the author's Crafts to Make in the Winter (Millbrook, 1999), but it does have an artistic, child-focused approach that's missing in Sharon Dunn Umnik's 175 Easy-to-Do Valentine Crafts (Boyds Mills, 2002) and Sheri Brownrigg's Hearts and Crafts (Tricycle, 1995; o.p.). Children looking for new ideas need look no further.

For what I wanted this book for, it will suit my purposes just fine. I think I was expecting it to have more ideas.

HASH(0x98c71798) out of 5 stars Cute craft ideas June 22 2008
By S. Clark - Published on
Format: Paperback
Simple but nice ideas, great pictures and illustrations/directions. Will work well for classroom projects for younger kids to follow along or for older kids to learn to follow directions on their own.

HASH(0x986f74bc) out of 5 stars Great to have on hand March 3 2013

This book was so full of fresh ideas, and with these ideas it was easy to develop ideas for other holidays. Some of the projects are for +5 children, but some can be modified for younger children. I recommend this author to any teacher, or parent who is looking for projects for their children and their friends.

HASH(0x9887aef4) out of 5 stars Happy heart day Aug. 19 2014
By Judy M Robertson - Published on
Format: Paperback
Good book for Valentine crafts. They even had one for the Laundry soap tops I'd been saving. Doesn't ask for items that are not easily found in most households. Most projects are easy to make but can be adjusted to make them more of a challenge for older children.
