The design has many repeated images and an overload of patterns. My favorite set of works is the precious stones series and unfortunately was cropped in half and most images are on the darker tone.
However, a lot of the images have been tweaked from their natural color scheme, probably to seem more appealing to the everyday aesthetic, therefore losing some of the quality in turn. For instance, on the work of mucha's representation of the morning star, the exposure on the image has been turned so low that you can barely see the difference in hues that mucha intended originally.
A lot of the images are zoomed in as well, cut off, or cropped terribly to show the most detailed parts of the posters, and the book has isolated certain elements of pieces and repeated them in wallpaper fashion....to me this cheapens the real aesthetic.
So while it is good for casual gawking, it's a frustrating representation of his works as there has been too much tampering with the originals; As a graphic designer, the terrible crops, the skewing of colors, the sharpening masks of detail, the repetition of elements...all these make for a frustrating layout in the book.

I had no idea when I bought it, but the cover actually has some sparkly embellishments on it. Makes for a beautiful coffee book table or looks great on the shelf!
I'm an art student and Mucha is my all time favorite artist so I had to get this book.
The illustrations are large and look great.
This book no only gives you a timeline of his work but shows excellent examples of it.
The book itself is beautiful . Printed on heavy paper with crisp prints in full color.
