HASH(0xa5ff1360) out of 5 stars Very good service! Feb. 8 2014

Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
To be honest, this was my first endeavor on VPC, I had my doubts, but it turned out to work flawlessly for me. The book I downloaded was over 300 pages with a lot of images, so it did take longer to download, but for the amount, I would say it did that process rather fast. I'm happy with VPC, I'd definitely use it again. No problems for me at all.

HASH(0xa6aec060) out of 5 stars Thorough Manual April 10 2014

Keep in mind that you're reading a manual and you won't mind it's repetitiveness because it will come in handy when you're using as a reference later.
And it is a good book for reference. Not only does it describe the overall product features, but it also provides recipes for the most common scenarios. It describes how to implement these scenarios using the web console, command line tools, or via the REST API.

HASH(0xa6c26354) out of 5 stars Tech Call June 26 2014
By Mike Fitz - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
This is not a publication for anyone light in PC skills. I was hoping for something that would give me an edge on "Cloud" use, but this is more a tech manual for people already savvy in this area. My bad for not checking it out first. I rated it for it's usefulness to me, not how good it is for people who know these things.

HASH(0xa62f9ba0) out of 5 stars Excellent for the basics of VPC configuration March 27 2013
By Amazon Customer - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
While no AWS book can be completely tailored to *your* needs, this is an easily understood piece of documentation that will enable you to apply the discussed topics to your VPC configuration. It is a bit out of date, but not so much that the information is rendered useless. I highly recommend being familiar with EC2 operations prior to reading this, however.

Judging from some of the previous reviews for this text, it might seem that this is not a book for beginners.

It's not.
This is *not* a book to read to learn about "the cloud", nor will it fill in the gaps for AWS in general.

That said, should you be looking for instuction on the configuration of VPC's in AWS, this is most certainly one of the better places to start. Plus, you can't argue with the price!
