Format: Spiral-bound
Well written, nicely illustrated and suitable for teacher trainees and serious yoga students who want to understand the biomechanics of their bodies in a full range of asanas. I was given this a few weeks back for Xmas and its already had a positive impact on my practice and my slowly evolving ability to awaken somatic sensations in my spine, hips and fascia. I also own Ray Long's colourful Key Poses of Yoga yet this spiralbound textbook by a Calgary specialist in kinesiology and yoga injuries is proving to be more readable and accessible.

This book is among the required readings for my 200 Hr Hatha Yoga Teacher Training.

I like that it is easy to read and visually appealing. Mostly, I know Susi (she is one of my teachers) and the information she provides in this book has helped me to teach thousands of yoga students more safely and knowledgeably.

If you are looking for a book on muscles names or poses, don't pick this one. If you are looking for bio-mechanical concepts/principles to apply to your practice/teaching to build strength, integrity and ease (which equals power), then this book is a must have.

Was a YTT text book. Was good with illustrations but found I had to backtrack to remember what it was talking about when mentioning certain subjects.
