Product Description

Review

“In The Wes Anderson Collection, Seitz expands a series of video essays on Anderson’s influences, illuminating as much of Anderson’s process as possible in a massive, beautifully rendered volume. Although it looks (and sometimes reads) like a coffee table book, The Wes Anderson Collection brings together style and substance to provide a loving homage to Anderson’s films and moviemaking in general.”
(The A.V. Club)

“Your coffee table wants—no, scratch that—needs this book . . . Packed with 400 images of everything from behind-the-scenes set shots to makeup inspiration to hand-drawn storyboards, the massive tome is pure eye candy. But in addition to the visuals, Seitz also dives deep into each and every Anderson film.”
(NYLON)

“A magical tour of Wes Anderson’s filmography.”
(C magazine)

“Each page of this book—filled with conversations, photographs and artwork surrounding each film—showcases Anderson’s pop-culture inspirations from Hitchcock and Star Wars to Jacques Cousteau and the French New Wave. Better than most of their kind, the talks reveal a candidness and honesty between critic and director, allowing Seitz to dig around Anderson’s vault and share his discoveries.”
(FILTER)

The Wes Anderson Collection comes as close as a book can to reading like a Wes Anderson film. The design is meticulously crafted, with gorgeous full-page photos and touches like a still representation of Rushmore’s opening montage.”
(The A.V. Club)

“Reading the book, you feel as if you’re disappearing into the miniature world of Anderson’s movies, like you’re playing around in the files and fastidiously kept dossiers assembled for each project. In this way, the book mimics the work.”
(Complex.com)

“It’s smart, informative, and looks beautiful. In other words, it’s the perfect gift.”
(Complex magazine)

Wes Anderson...what do you even say about Wes Anderson? I know some people find his type of directing annoying or irritating, and find that his films are garbage or "far too boring" to get through, but those are the kinds of people I like to stay away from because what they neglect to understand is the true beauty and nature of the mind of Wes Anderson and the art he gives us by way of his films. This is book is just a nice collection of everything Wes Anderson has done, and no, it doesn't talk only about the movie and its plots and characters and cast-- you get a great deal of insight into the mind of Wes Anderson, which, if you're anything like myself, a true enthusiast of his films, will find exciting and invigorating because the man is truly an enigma. If you're in even the slightest way a fan of Wes Anderson, you absolutely require this book. It gives his movies a whole new meaning and perspective, which is always nice when rewatching the same one for the 14th time!

Shipped and delivered incredibly quickly. The quality of this book is so much higher then I had anticipated.. and I had fairly high standards from reading other reviews. The only thing that kinda bothered me about the book is how many two page LARGE photographs there where. It was a little startling, and hard to comprehend at some times. But that is probably just a personal preference.
It really is an in-depth book and completely worth buying for anyone who has a creative interest in Wes Anderson as a director, well, the book is actually so pretty I guess it wouldn't matter who bought it. Worth the buy!!

Anderson focuses a lot on the behind-the-scenes work for each of his movies and less on analyzing the films' content, so it's great for filmmakers and cinephiles but less interesting for film critics. Still, a worthy and beautiful coffee table book.

If you like Wes Anderson, or even just a peek into the behind the scenes of filmmaking, this book goes behind the camera and explores Wes Anderson's career.

I absolutely loved flipping through the pages. It's a brilliantly put together book, following one of the most interesting auteur directors currently working in film today.

A great buy. It is a must own for any fan of Wes Anderson.

Highly Recommended. It is everything and more than I expected.
