To protect and to serve, or to save her own brother?

Angel Day, the lead sniper for the Phoenix Police Department, got her nickname “The Angel of Death” the old-fashioned way: she earned it for her ruthless efficiency at stopping crimes with one well-placed bullet. When a massive call-out down by the Mexican Border reveals a terrorist cell and turns into a standoff, Angel’s youngest brother, the lost soul of her family, texts her that he is inside that barricaded house, and her orders are to shoot anything that moves.

Praise for Blair C. Babylon’s other books:

“This is why [Blair C. Babylon] is an author to watch!” ~ Booklist (starred review)

"I stumbled upon this series a few months ago while searching through e-books for the kindle. Out of all of the books I've read, this is by far the best. I have never been the type to read things in installments, but this is the first time I've faithfully awaited each new episode release. The story … is great, the characters are believable, and I can never really guess what is going to happen next. What more could you want in a series?" ~Amazon Review

“This series just takes my breath away. Breathless!!!! That's how this book made me feel from beginning to end. It was one of those books I just couldn't put down until some of my questions were answered. I was constantly on the edge of my seat anxiously hoping it would turn out the way I hoped. I had this same sense of anxious excitement from the very first book of this series and it has not left me yet. This is not your typical cliched novel, where you can tell practically from the first page what is going to happen. Oh no! This book has you waiting with bated breath to see what happens next. I cannot wait for the next book. Ms. Babylon is a genius, who proves every skeptic who says all novels are alike, wrong!” ~Amazon Review

HASH(0xa716e210) out of 5 stars Definitely a 'one click' buy book! Dec 23 2014

Angel Day is the lead sniper for the Phoenix Police Department. She earned her nickname 'Angel of Death' the old fashioned way, by ruthless efficiency and by stopping crimes with one well placed bullet.
Angel is a strong, independent woman, her life revolves around her work and colleagues. She is devoted to her job, in fact, I would say to Angel its a vocation not just a job! Angel and Bravo Team are called to a standoff at a terrorist cell by the Mexican Border. As Angel and Hunter take up post as side one Bravo Sniper Team to gather intel on the house, Angel receives a text from her Brother, the lost soul of her family, letting her know he's inside the house and to shoot anything that moves!
From the very first page, Angel of death is filled with nerve wracking action that will have you hanging onto your Kindle and not leaving go until the very last page. Fans of BID will recognize Angel from Lizzie's story as the Angel on the mountain! I loved Mace and his Wife Liberty and their relationship with Angel outside of work hours as well as during. As well as some real on the edge of your seat action and shocking tear jerking scenes the book also has some LOL moments along the way. The characters are lovable and engaging and I honestly do look forward to reading more about all of these wonderful new characters in the future! It easy to see how much time has been spent on getting the correct information about the Police units as well as the hard work and devotion that has clearly been put into story and character development.
Although this isn't the usual E-rom we have come to know and love from Blair, it in no way loses any of that Blair magic but adds another dimension to her work! So go on, take a chance, one click and enjoy, you'll not be disappointed!

I received a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.

HASH(0xa64e49d8) out of 5 stars This book was fantastic. Angel Day is sniper for the Phoenix PD Dec 26 2014

Format: Kindle Edition
This book was fantastic. Angel Day is sniper for the Phoenix PD. She doesn't shoot to kill she shoots to stop, with extreme force. I love that line from the book. Angel Day is a wonderful character. She used to work for the FBI but came back to Phoenix because of family. She practically raised her little sister and two younger brothers. She isn't the dating and settling down kind of girl. She has a dog that used to be a bomb sniffing dog but was hurt in the line of duty. She has a powerfully strong bond with her family. She has been a sniper for a long time. It takes incredible skill to do her job and the situations usually aren't the best. She hopes for a peaceful outcome where she doesn't have to do her job but that usually isn't the out come. The people she shoots aren't nice people anyway and sometimes its better that she had to do her job. In this book she is forced with an unbelievable situation that tears at her. She is called to a house where people are holed up inside and have shot at the chief which happens to be her uncle in some way. He is the chief of a border town near Mexico. While on the mission she learns her brother is in the house and is part of their cause. This a horrible situation and she blames herself that she let this happen. She knows what is going to happen, the police are going to go at the house with everything to get them to come peacefully or in body bags. She has to save her brother.
This book was very emotional. Angel goes through so many things. People from her team are hurt. I cried at one point while reading. So many things happen that are emotionally powerful in this book. I loved it. Angel is kick ass after all she is a female sniper!! Her character is amazing, the way she thinks and acts. She is fiercely loyal of those she loves and cares about. She will do anything for them. She knows that her brother will have to be held accountable for his part in the situation but she doesn't want him to die. She is forced to face many obstacles in this story and does so fantastically. The other characters in this book and great too. I can't wait to read more books in this series and learn more about the characters.
I was given this book in return for an honest review.

HASH(0xa636c8dc) out of 5 stars Honest Review Jan. 8 2015
By Romance Readers Retreat - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
Okay, first off, this is not a romance, but that was not a problem for me. What it is is an exciting police procedural focusing on one of the better female characters I've come across in a long time.

Angel Day is a police sniper, a very good one at that. She is not afraid to take out a bad guy holding hostages with one clean perfect shot to the head whenever necessary. She has saved way more people than she's shot, but it's the shots that get all the attention.

She soon finds herself outside a terrorist compound in the desert. The people inside are dangerous and have already shot at one police officer, wounding him, and killing his horse. The place is surrounded, and everyone is just waiting for the next shoe to drop.

Soon Angel discovers one of the inhabitants of this compound is her wayward little brother. The little brother she raised like a mother. The little brother who is easily swayed by others. The little brother she may have to kill to save her fellow police officers.

The excitement in this book will keep you on the edge of your seat. I found myself gasping aloud a few times at what was happening. I promise you will be breathless by the end of the book.

This is the first book in the series, but it does not end on a cliffhanger. It tells a complete story. Although there are signs of a possible romance developing between Angel and one of the hostage negotiators, nothing really comes of it in this first book. Perhaps we'll see more of that in the next book? Either way, I will be standing in line to get it when it's published.

HASH(0xa6352864) out of 5 stars Another GREAT series by Blair - 5++ stars Dec 23 2014

We first got wind of Angel from Lizzy's story, when Theo mentioned her as the sniper on the side of the mountain to Lizzy when his home was attacked. Theo, as a state prosecutor, has had to question her in court on several cases in the past.

Angel Day is the lead sniper for the Phoenix Police Department. In this book, we meet her as she is at a standoff, where a suspect has taped a shot gun to the head of a hostage. She does her job and in the end, has to take the shot that kills the suspect, once he starts shooting at the police. This book gives us a lot of background on how snipers, negotiators and the police all work together. Angel is definitely a strong woman, per her description. She has worked for the FBI and has a lot of family members in the Law Enforcement arena.

While she is on administrative leave until after the grand jury hearing to verify a "good" snipe, she is called to another potential standoff near the Mexican border, where she is ready to do her job. However, she finds out that one of the suspects in the house is her baby brother and she is pulled from the case. That doesn't stop her from aiding the negotiators and being a part of taking down the suspects. She is deeply affected by the loss of friends and team members.

Angel is a loner and I am looking forward to reading more about her. This is definitely a book that needs to be read. It makes you appreciate what the border patrol is supposed to be doing and how dangerous it is for those Americans that live in that area. It really makes you think.

HASH(0xa64e7474) out of 5 stars I find it a very good book because it shows another side of the cool ... Dec 23 2014

I admit it, it is the very first novel of Blair C. Babylon that I ‘ve read so far, but it will definitely not be the last.
I received this advanced copy of Angel of Death for an honest review, so here goes…
Angel Day – the lead sniper for the Phoenix Police Department – is a force to be reckoned with. She earned her nickname ‘Angel of Death’ for her efficiency at stopping crimes..with a a sniper.
Angel seems to live for her job, and even though she doesn’t always wait for the man higher up the chain to give the command, she always puts the security of her team and herself in first place.
When a call-out by the Mexican border reveals a terrorist cell – she packs her bags and jumps on the plane. But… after the first night of scouting, she finds out that her baby brother is in the house and she gets orders to shoot anything that moves. Will she find the strength to battle against the alpha’s? Will she put her own safety on the line to save her younger brother?
I was drawn into this book from beginning until the end – it is very well written, you can imagine the struggle Angel has with herself, with her team and with her brother. I find it a very good book because it shows another side of the cool and collected sniper-persona of Angel: yes, she has emotions, yes, she cares for her family, and hell yes, she cares for her team and she has the courage to admit she was wrong.
I can honestly say that I will recommend this book to everyone into a real novel and I can’t wait for the rest of the series to be send out, because I really need more of that cool Angel.
