This game starts out slooooow.
The board game is almost unbearable to get through the first time around.

But I found that after I got an extra little Amiibo (Kicks, because cuuute) and some cards, this wasn't a bad little time waster.

Especially the island escape game. So satisfying when you're bored and looking for something simple yet addictive.

The game design is cute and while the concept seemed good in theory, the execution was poor and left the game feeling very empty and long. Paid $56 for the game and am very disappointed with the lack of content, even if I discount the cost of the amiibos.

Super Smash Bros has a better board game setup and that's not even the game's focus.

This game is just a tease. Its like, we know you want a real animal crossing game, heres this interactive art show where nothing you do matters. You could stare at a wall and spam hitting the A button for two hours (yes it takes 2 hours to play this) and you would get the same result if you actually tried to "play" this game. And by "play" i mean, roll a dice you have no control over, then move to whatever space and read some text that says if you got stuff or not.....there is no real control here. You have no choice whether you win or lose or over anything that happens. This is a mario party game where there are no minigames and even less choice

Honestly looking at this game objectively and having bought and played it i can say it is a legitimately fun board game. The only thing missing is a literal board. The use of amiibo as game pieces is reminiscent of Monopoly and is a great way to make use of the characters. The decision to use Animal Crossing characters and put it in the light and fun world of Animal Crossing provides a wonderful setting for a game that plays out similarly to The Game of Life and the turnip stock market is a wonderful mechanic. Factoring in the price of the two included amiibo and the game i can safely say a $60 is worth it. If you are looking for a party game or family game that is light-hearted and fun for all ages i recommend this game.

I'll start by saying I'm a huge fan of the Animal Crossing series. I've got most of the games, and a truly ridiculous amount of plushies.

I think this is one of those games where you'll love it or hate it. It's a lot like the old Mario Party games: a glorified board game with mini games thrown in. So far it's a big hit with the rest of the family. We all pick our favourite character, settle down with some hot chocolate (or wine) and play it together in the evening. Having the amiibo as game pieces isn't as irritating as I thought it would be, it just makes it feel more like a real board game.

Surprisingly, what I enjoy most is unlocking stuff to customize the board. There are some stuff (like the windmill) that's purely aesthetic, but then there're others (like the Café) that will expand the board with more paths to travel in-game. You can also tap amiibo cards and get villagers to move into houses on your board. I haven't seen a big use for them yet, but I can say Octavian's house looks really cool and he wanders around while I'm playing.

On the flip-side, this is not a game I would enjoy playing by myself. It would be like playing Monopoly or Life by yourself. XP There are NPCs that can play against you, but it's just not the same. So if you don't have family or friends to play it with you, I don't think it'll be worth your money because it would get boring very quickly.

Overall I love it. It's fun to play with my family and it's got the usual cute/colourful graphics you can expect from an Animal Crossing game.

PS: Joan will become your most hated character after a few games.

The Game Has Really Fun And Interesting Charcters, Which I Really Like! The First Time I Played The Game All The Graphics Looked Cute And Amazing. But You Really, Really Get Bored Out Of Your Head After A Few Gameplays! Because In Reality, All You Are Doing Is Going Countinuously Around A Game Board.

Animal Crossing amiibo Festival is absolutely stunning. The graphics on the WiiU makes this game one of the best. I'm a huge Animal Crossing fan and I'm very familiar with the 3DS New Leaf game. If you're a fan of New Leaf then amiibo Festival is a must have game. I'm an adult playing this game and it has entertained me for hours already. There are numerous similarities to Animal Crossing New Leaf for the 3DS. Moving in villagers, buiding structures, and the most fun, risking your bells on the stalk market. A great way for children to learn the ropes of the market by buying low and selling high. I've been playing this game with another adult who has no Animal Crossing background at all up until this game. She bought her first Animal Crossing amiibo today in order to level up yet another amiibo in the game. I think that says alot about this games ability to entertain an older adult. I have all of the associated amiibo and my amiibo card collection is also growing. The minigames that you unlock with happy points are really fun and they are for single players or those in groups of up to 4 players. There is even an Animal Crossing trivia game for those who know their AC facts. It was quite challenging to be honest and super fun. This game is one of the best released to date for the WiiU console. I highly reccomend it whether your an AC fan or not, whether you are an adult or child, and if you intend to play alone or with more than one person. Don't forget to get some amiibo cards and amiibo to use with the game. They really add to the fun. You won't be disappointed.
