we've made biscuits - roasted tomato dip and the amazing you won't believe you are eating chickpeas - with the chocolate chickpea spread. with most recipes - the instructions for dehydrating the ingredients (and correct proportions) are given - however, being 'car campers' we won't need to do this step. Camping with children is a joy - having easy recipes to prepare at home and organize so I have everything at the camp site is fantastic. For those of you that do the planning, cooking and organizing - this book is a gift - Laurie Ann March has done all the work for us.

Some of the recipes took longer to dehydrate than stated in the book, but I just kept checking back every couple of hours and everything still turned out fine. My favourites so far are the chana masala and the pumpkin hummus - so good!

The book offers useful information about dehydrating camp meals and provides lots of resources to check out online. The author obviously has lots of experience wilderness camping and experimenting with what does and doesn't work. As a result we, the readers, are the beneficiaries of her experiences. It's worth its weight in gold!
I love wilderness camping and this book helps me continue to eat healthy even in the back country!!!
I'm off to try some of her other recipes!!
Otherwise, it's an excellent book!
