HASH(0xa70c3810) out of 5 stars tompall in top form Nov. 3 2006
By Frank Kimmel - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
tompall at his whiskey-voice best, as a solo act, which is as good as country rock gets; arguably the best pure singer in the outlaw/progressive country game. most of the best songs were written by shel silverstein, who wrote so many excellent songs for various artists i've lost count. a notable exception is "i can't remember", penned by glaser himself. this collection is taken from two vinyl albums released close together in the mid-70s. it's been a long time getting to cd, but it's worth the wait; the production and musical precision is excellent, despite (or maybe becasue of?) the artist's claim that he was stoned throught the productions.

HASH(0xa70c3864) out of 5 stars Still Good, Current Music April 5 2007
By William E. Gould - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
I first heard "Put Another Log on the Fire" in the mid-seventies on the radio while car pooling, and we all thought is was a good joke. For some reason, recently, the tune came to mind again, and I found this album. Well, the title song may be just something to laugh about (it is!), but Tompall Glaser is a great singer, and every single one on the songs on the album is great!

HASH(0xa70c3c9c) out of 5 stars Don't miss this! Feb. 17 2014

You really need to get both CD's "Hillbilly Central" 1 and 2. They feature the music from the 3 years of Tompall's "Outlaw" career at Glaser Sound Studio. Tompall sang a variety of styles of music and there is a little of everything on this CD. There is some classic country with "The Wild Side Of Life" and some killer blues with "I Can't Remember" featuring Tompall's all star Outlaw Band. Also on this CD are a few of the great songs of Shel Silverstein, a phenomenal songwriter. Give these 2 CD's a listen. You won't be sorry.

Tompall Glaser was a true talent and I'm sorry that he did not receive the recognition that he deserved. This CD should be in every country music fan's library.

I have been a country fan for 58yrs and never heard of him until I heard him sing "Echoes" on galaxy not long ago and I instantly became a fan. Every song on the CD is great! I think he is a lot like Waylon Jennings.
