Sacramento's Deftones return with their much-anticipated second album, Around The Fur, a furious, hard-hitting blast of confrontational sound. The Deftones have already established themselves nationally as one of the hardest and most powerful new bands to arrive in years, and Around The Fur is destined to catapult them to massive success. Certified Gold by the RIAA (6/99).

1.My Own Summer(shove it) 10/10 Aggressive, Yet the lyrics still remain poetic.
2.Lhabia 10/10 My second favorite. The chorus is so awesome!
3.Mascara 9/10 Great, but not perfect. It seems to drag at times.
4.Around the Fur 10/10 Love this song. Not my favorite, but it rocks.
5.Rickets 8/10 Good song, I just don't like the verses.
6.Be Quiet and Drive(far away) 9/10 It's good, but not what everybody says. Fun Fact: Listen to this and then Chevelle's Send the Pain Below. Chevelle must be Deftones fans, huh?
7.Lotion 10/10 Favorite song on the album. One of the best songs EVER. I MEAN THAT.
8.Dai the Flu 10/10 Great verses. Great chorus. Great song.
9.Headup 9/10 Good, but unusual for Deftones. Rap verses and a weird chorus? Not bad, weird though.
10.MX 10/10 Cool song. Best chorus in a while.
Hidden Track 7/10 This is a good song, but you expect a little better from Deftones.
Overall 10/10 Favorite Deftones album and one of my favorite albums of all time.
If you love heavy yet melodic rock music which is aggressive and violent but at the same time ethereal and soothing, then this is for you. Hell, if you like this sort of music, you should own this album already! Classic stuff. My fav song on here is Be Quiet and Drive, and yes, I know that's a cliche, but words can't actually do justice to how good this song is. My Own Summer also kicks serious ass- it was the first song I heard of them, and I haven't looked back. All the songs on here will rock you. Even Damone, which is hidden right at the end of MX, is worth fastforwarding to (and that is saying something given that you have to hold down the button for at least 2-3 minutes solid!)
All I can say is, you can find yourself in three categories of emotion towards Deftones: Love, Hate or Tolerance- but if you know what is good for you, you will buy this album NOW and love it for the duration of your rock loving life!
1. My Own Summer 10/10 - As soon as you hear the fist pound of the drums your hit with one of the best cd starting songs ever.
2. Lhabia 11/10 - This is one of my favorite songs on the cd. It's slows down the flow of the cd getting you ready for Mascara.
3. Mascara 10/10 - Slow... but i love it
4. Around the Fur 11/10 - right up there with Lhabia
5. Rickets 8/10 - Great song, but doesn't live up to the others. But it is pretty short. C'mon the weakest song on the album is an 8!! go buy this cd.
6. Be Quiet and Drive (far Away) 10.5/10 - Now most people keep saying this is the best song on the album. I wouldn't go that far but it is a great song worthy of recognition
7. Lotion 12/10 - This is my favorite song on the album and my favorite Deftones song. Of all the reviews i've seen on this song people either love it or they hate it. you know where i stand.
8. Dai the Flu 9/10 - i really like this song but it's still not as good as the rest.
9. Headup 11/10 - this or Lhabia is my 2nd favorite song on the album
10. MX 10/10 - one of the deftones coolest sounding songs.
Secret Track. Damone 10/10 - Well worth the fast-forwarding (32min 36 sec)
All in all this cd flows beautifully and sounds even better. I love this cd and if you buy it, you will too.
