Product description

Product Description

The Art of Complaining Effectively is a book about how to stand up for yourself. You will learn to complain so that your voice is heard. So that you get the refund you deserve or the appointment you need. So that your turkey sub has the freshest possible lettuce (read the book - that joke will make sense to you quickly).

When you finally do complain about your lettuce (same joke) I want to make sure that you do so in the most effective possible way.

Stick with me - read this book - and together we are going to review all the elements of an effective complaint.

One lettuce leaf at a time (couldn't resist)

I first read this book when it came out in print and proceeded to use the advice to complain more effectively. Amy's advice is spot on. The humor she uses to tell stories makes this not only a useful book but also an entertaining one.

Loved the writing style, but would have liked more substance. I was disappointed in the lack of research incorporated into this book, although I did enjoy the author's humourous approach to the subject matter.

I enjoyed this book very much. It had a lot to offer as a self-help book - but also helped provide insight into the common social science of complaining: why we do it? why it doesn't work? why it sometimes frustrates us? I found that this book opened my eyes and helped develop a sense of self awareness to both when I make complaints and receive complaints. The vignets are very witty and Amy Fish has a writing style that is pleasant and enjoyable.

This is a great book, especially for people like me who don't like conflict. The author is humorous in her approach to a delicate subject and does an amazing job of keeping it real and relevant. I loved the book and would highly recommend it.

An eye-opening interpretation of how people relate to each other. Very cleverly written, you can see yourself on either side of the complaint in each example. I thoroughly enjoyed it and am looking forward to her next book.
