Aspen Pet Programmable Lebistro Food Dispenser

Aspen Pet Lebistro Programmable Food Dispenser is an innovative feeder for busy pet parents. Meals can be programmed for up to three meals a day. Controlled portions help your pet maintain his healthy weight! Top load feature makes refilling your feeder convenient and easy. Pet parents choose the perfect sized feeder to fit your pet's needs. Battery operated, batteries not included.

Assembly

1) Align hopper with base on an even surface.

2) Insert hopper into base and twist to lock in place.

3) Line up arrows on hopper with arrows on lid.

4) Place lid on top of hopper and twist to lock lid into place.

5) Insert bowl into base by tilting base.

6) Lower bowl into base connecting hooks into base.

Programming

- Up to 3 different sized meals per 24 hours.

- Each Meal Serving is adjustable in 1/4 cup increments.

- Both the 5lb and 10lb units can be set 1/4 to 3 cups.

Default Meal Servings are:

- Breakfast at 6am.

- Lunch at 12pm.

- Dinner at 6pm.

To Set Meal Selection

1) Press and hold the 'Enter' button for 2 seconds. 'Meals' will flash.

2) Use Up or Down arrow buttons to select the desired Meal to be programmed. (Breakfast, Lunch, or Dinner will flash as Up and Down arrow buttons are pressed)

3) Press the 'Enter' button to select the Meal.

-'Yes' will Flash. Press 'Enter' to confirm meal time.

-If you do not wish to set that meal, press the Down arrow to select 'No' and press 'Enter'.

4) Hit 'Enter' again if no other meal is needed.

5) While setting the Meal or Meal Time, if process is not completed and no button is depressed for 2 minutes, the Programmable Lebistro Food Dispenser abandons the change and goes back into 'Automatic Mode', retaining the previous Meal or Meal Time.

To Set Meal Time

1) Use Up or Down arrow buttons to set Meal Hour.

2) Press 'Enter' button again and the Minutes will start flashing.

3) Use Up or Down arrow buttons to set Meal Minutes.

4) Press 'Enter' button when minutes are set. The Menu will automatically take you to the 'Meal Size' programming.

To Set Meal Time:

1) Use Up or Down arrow buttons to increase or decrease amount of food to be dispensed.

2) Press 'Enter' upon completion. Note: Each bar equals approximately 1/4 cup. The maximum meal size you may select is three cups on either the 5lb unit and 10 pounds unit.

3) Continue setting remaining meal times and sizes until complete.

4) Press 'Enter' after all meals are set to complete programming.

Pet Training Tips

Some pets may require a special adjustment period to acclimate to their new automatic feeder. If this is your dog or cat, try:

1) Place the Programmable Lebistro Food Dispenser next to your pet's existing bowl or feeder. (Do not turn the power on).

2) Place food in the bowl of the Programmable Lebistro Food Dispenser (only for a period of time to allow adjustment).

3) Keep food in the pet's current bowl (only for a period of time to allow adjustment).

4) Once you have observed your pet eating from the Programmable Lebistro Food Dispenser, remove their old feeding dish.

Note: Adjustment time for the pet could be as short as a day or as long as a few weeks, depending on your pet's personality. You can also introduce your pet to the Programmable Lebistro Food Dispenser by placing small treats in the bowl.

It's fine, but some of the food gets stuck before leaving, so my cats didn't get a full meal a few times.I had it on for 3 weeks before I gave up and decided to use it for when I go away only. For some reason, my glutton cat would meow more with this than being fed in a regular bowl by me. Also, glutton as he is, it took 2 hours for him to understand where the food came from and scratch at it.As I said, the trap often does not close properly because food gets stuck, so I had to reduce the bowl size for him to not be able to use his paws (see photo).Also, for some reason manual mode for me does not work properly. It days to press once and one portion should come out, which it does not. If i press too long, I get like 7 portions to come out.All in all, if your cat is not gluttonous nor too smart, it does the job. If you need someting reliable, this product is not it.

This is a great product, but unfortunately it isn't 100% reliable.
I bought 2 (one for each cat), and they have seriously made a positive difference in my life. I can leave on week-ends without worry, or having to ask someone to check up on them for me. U
nfortunately, the dispenser does not always do its job. What I mean is that the machine makes sounds, but no food comes out! I have two, so if one doesn't go off, the worst case scenario is my cats will share that one portion, but atleast I know they will eat. It's not a huge deal, and this doesn't happen all the time, just once every so often, but I feel I have to warn future buyers still the same. Other than that, no problems, super convenient and easy to use and clean.

I have two kittens, and by kittens they're now 7 months but still have lots of energy. Two boys who get into mischief all the time. However they have left the bowl alone for the most part and use it in a very respectful way. I washed and assembled the unit and they were terrified by it at first. The timer works well, and dispenses food as scheduled and for the amounts needed. However I should be clear, I feed my guys a wet and dry diet, they get wet food in the morning, and wet food at night. This unit is programmed for their lunch, and for a meal just after they have dinner. It dispenses a 1/2 cup but that's for both of them, at these two times. I up the amount if I'm going to be gone for the weekend, but this amount feeds both of the little guys. I feel as though if I had one cat I'd want smaller portions.

My two guys are brothers and they're used to eating beside each other, but if one moves in on the others food there's some growling, but I've monitored them eating and they both get their fill without sacrifice, but this is probably just my unique situation (thank goodness). The unit is quite large and is a little bit of an eyesore in the kitchen but I'm hoping to remodel it into a cabinet. Fashion two shoots that divide up the boys food into two separate bowls. When they hear it go off, they run over just to check it out, sometimes eat, but sometimes just check it out. It's really just there to give them small interim meals. The dish moves around, and I really wish it just locked in. If my cats bump it or twist it it can sometimes cause it to jam, or release food behind the dish. I just wish it was more secure, but again if I fashion it to fit in a cabinet with shoots into two bowls then I'll get over it. I also like the large one because it fits a medium bag of kibble with a little room at the top to spare. So I can just dump the bag in and not have to store it elsewhere.

Overall happy and pleased with it, haven't had any issues with the guys trying to get extra food out of it, but again, it's only used for their lunch and after dinner snack. Plus I've started them young with it and portion control, so it's not like I'm using it on a fat kitty trying to get the weight off, and having a desperate cat clawing into it for food. Time will tell though.

Ugh. The dish is easily pried out of position by resourceful cats. Resulting in food dispensing all over the counter. They do this because they know there is food left in the hopper after each feeding. So they reach up into the dispenser to get what's remaining. Which is not an easy task. But they know if they spend enough time rooting around, they'll get what's in there. As a bonus, if they spend enough time and effort doing this, the entire unit sometimes goes crashing onto the floor from the counter. It's currently held together with duct tape. Sure I can blame my extremely annoying cats. But if there was no way to pry extra food out of it after each feeding, they wouldn't be picking at it so much. It's almost like this was designed by cats.

Because my cats can dig out the upcoming portion, I have to set the portions to larger volumes. I could set it to the lowest amount, but this will 100% of the time result in them trying to dig the rest of it out of the hopper. At least if I set it for higher volumes, they might leave it alone as they are full. However I feel like this will ultimately result in larger cats.

Anyways, it's currently held onto the wall with a bungee cord running through two hooks. That seems to have stabilized things. Even one hook saw it fly off the counter twice. Two hooks is the answer. The bungee cord slips over the dish and into the space where the dish attaches, kind of locking it in place. It's not pretty, but I refuse to give up after paying $80 for this thing.

Despite the bungee cord hack, I expect that this will meet it's demise sooner than later. At that time, I hope to find a replacement without these issues. I'll also look for something that does more than just three feedings a day. With three cats that have different eating habits, I was hoping to be able to feed smaller portions more often. I missed the note about only three feedings. But my mistake does not give this any extra stars.

They are outside dogs that come in the garage to eat and sleep so we glued on a pvc pipe and put it through their cage and tied it so they couldn’t knock it over or chew on it. We also tied the bowls to the cage so they couldn’t take them away either lol and it works great. Their food has no problem going through and no problems after 2 weeks. They also hold a lot of food which is great. It’s great when we go away for a couple days and don’t have to worry about finding someone to feed the dogs being on an acreage. The only thing was one came with a plug and one didn’t so I’m not sure if they are supposed to or not, it doesn’t say on the box, but it’s in a heated garage so the batteries in the one should last a while.

La calidad es bastante decente aunque usa pilas.
Lo uso para mi gata y le programo varias comidas al día, de distintas porciones.
A veces saca más comida de la que programé pero nada grave. Es bastante fácil de programar y le caben 2 kilos de comida lo cual para un gato es suficiente como para un mes. Un mes sin preocuparme por la comida.
Creo que si fuese un perreo grande, por el poco peso que tiene el material el perro podría voltear el dispensador.

Really good little feeder, we've used dozens of times, for up to several days at a time, though food will last much longer. We sometimes leave it on even when we are home for the convenience, and flexibility not to have to schedule our activities around the cat's mealtimes. Only downside is if you have 2 cats, and one is greedy...! Options are great (3 meals a day, variable amount) and dispenses quite consistently. Would really recommend to anyone, saves on cattery costs, or having to ask neighbours.

J'utilise ce distributeur que je sois là ou pas. Il est très facile à programmer. Lorsque je suis absente, en général une semaine, je programme 3 distributions par jour. Si je suis là, comme je donne une alimentation mixte, je programme une distribution par jour. Par contre, il faut l'attacher à un support car le chat a tendance à aller chercher les dernières croquettes dans le bas de la trémie. Il n'a pas réussi à renverser le distributeur mais je l'ai retrouvé à l'autre bout de la pièce. On peut programmer uniquement des multiples de 20 g, donc 20 ou 40 ou 60 g de croquettes par repas et 1, 2 ou 3 repas par jour. La qualité et la fiabilité de ce distributeur justifient largement le prix.

I currently have two of these. I bought my first one from Pet Smart because that was where I first saw it. Having tried a variety of automatic feeders I found this one to be unique. It allowed me to program portion dispensing. My one concern was that I have a cat that is finicky about stale food, literally he will ignore it if it sits out for a few hours. So I always gave him very small amounts and he was happy to nibble. To keep the kibble fresh in the hopper I took a piece of saran wrap and placed it between the lid of the hopper and hopper body. As finicky as my guys are it has worked perfectly, low tech wins. I travel a lot, and I also work in an industry that exposes me to a lot of information related to production flaws. I bought this product and tested it out in preparation for a a trip away from home. I buy Naturals food for my cats which is small pellet. I tested it out and the 1/4 actually seemed incredibly small when it dispensed which is a contradiction to everyone else who seems to complain of more than programmed dispensing.

Once I opened it up I realized it was battery operated which I think is a plus because I can place it anywhere in the house. I powered it up, set up the test times. It worked fine, I made minor adjustments for amount dispensed for the cats. (I have 2) It ran for two weeks before I left. It has worked very well for the past 5 weeks including while I was on vacation, although I had friends stop by to check on them just in case.

I love this product because I program it for 3 meals a day (before I couldn't feed them in the middle of day because of work) which I think is much healthier for them. It took them some time to realize I did not have to be in the room for them to fed. Now it is hilarious to watch one of them bound through the house when the food dispenses to the bowl. I bought a second feeder because one of my cats was being forced to wait for the other when the food dispensed. So with separate bowls they can eat at the same time. After the road testing of the first one I felt comfortable enough to buy the second one.

I have read a lot of reviews on this product and often the little motor or pieces fail or the programing. From experience I will say these failures are most likely a result of workmanship from countries like China. For anyone experiencing these issues it is really important you contact the company to let them know. Just recently I had a problem with a Wii remote, based on many other tidbits of information I realized the failure was the supplier in China and it had been massive in recalls for the company, it wasn't the company's quality of product but the suppliers manufacturing to the specifications the company required that was lacking. But the companies have to know when the supplier is failing them so they can determine when the cost savings of doing business there is eliminated by the expenses from flaws. Don't just give up if you have a problem with your product contact the manufacturer with your experience directly and include specific information on your product so they can trace the lots and address the situation.

I am still using these pet feeders and they have made an international relocation with me. They are going strong and working perfectly after 5 years use. I have bought some other models for temporary use and they have all failed miserably. Hands down this item is completely worth the cost and will provide an acceptable return on investment of you buy it.

I just wanted to provide an update that these feeders are still going strong after almost 6 years of use. I have had no problems and I am very happy with it. I upgraded my rating to a 5. I also purchased the newer model while I was in the US in May and carried it back with me. It works very well, it is a more streamlined version of the originals that I bought. I think this is the best automated feeder product line available.
