Anthology of 3 short stories from the Lilith Bloodstone Series by Charles Moffat: "The Emissary of Darkness" + "The Astral Plane" + "Out for Blood".
In the Holy City of Kost at the south-east corner of the Korovian Sea is the Academy of Arcane where many young pupils in the disciplines of magic choose to train. Lilith Bloodstone is a young necromancer who seeks to use necromantic magic to help people, but necromancy has a foul reputation and while her motives are pure she faces many challenges and adventures.
In Book III the young Lilith has finished half of her second year of necromancy studies and must now choose how to expand her level of knowledge since most of the necromancers in the region were killed off (see "On Death's Door" in Book II) leaving very few people able to teach her. Yet despite her challenges facing her she nevertheless has the force of will to continue on and with a little help from friends she is up for new adventures as she once more journey's out into the world beyond the Holy City of Kost.
Join Lilith and her elven friend Raelean in Book III of this series as they travel through the Troll Lands towards the elvish city of Sylvania. But en route she encounters both trolls and creatures from another plane of existence, and in order to win the day must travel to other planes of existence and battle beings she could not foresee.
Each short story is part of a continuing storyline created by Charles Moffat. Purchase other Lilith Bloodstone books from Amazon Kindle to continue reading Lilith Bloodstone's adventures. Visit fiction.charlesmoffat.com to find more Amazon Kindle eBooks.

About the author

Charles Moffat is a fantasy author based in Toronto, Canada who has been publishing both fiction and non-fiction for over three decades.
Moffat is influenced by authors David Eddings (The Belgariad and The Malloreon), Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman (co-authors of Dragonlance), Ursula Le Guin (Earthsea), J. R. R. Tolkien (The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings), Robert E. Howard (Conan the Barbarian), Stephen King, and George R. R. Martin (A Song of Ice and Fire).
Since 1999 Moffat has mostly been writing fantasy set in the fictional kingdom of Korovia, a pseudo-Slavic kingdom that mixes a variety of fantasy elements common to Sword & Sorcery, Slavic folklore, Dark Fantasy, Heroic Fantasy and other fantasy subgenres. He has multiple series of books set in Korovia:
× The Adventures of Wrathgar (Heroic Fantasy)
× The Adventures of the Bogatyr (Sword & Sorcery)
× The Chronicles of Korovia (Heroic Fantasy)
× The Lilith Bloodstone Series (Dark Fantasy)
× The Wulfric the Wanderer Series (Sword & Sorcery)
Moffat also has a separate series of stories set on "Alt-Earth", which features alternative history, historical fiction, historical fantasy, urban fantasy, AfroFantasy, contemporary action/adventure, spy thrillers, and weird westerns. This series includes the following books:
× Hunting Hitler (Alternative History, Spy Thriller)
× The Dragontree of Kaŝe (AfroFantasy, Urban Fantasy)
× The Dragonslayers of Kaŝe (AfroFantasy, Urban Fantasy)
× The Girl in the Red Hoodie (Alternative History, Action/Adventure)
Outside of his writing career, Moffat works as an archery instructor in Toronto, Canada, and publishes non-fiction in archery magazines. This in turn has influenced how he prefers to depict archery and bowhunting in a realistic manner. For readers who appreciate realism in their archery/storytelling, "The Adventures of Wrathgar" series is made specifically for archers.
Charles Moffat lives in Toronto with his wife and two sons. He enjoys fishing, bow making and woodworking.

The story which unfolds about the young necromancer Lilith seems a bit more surrel to me than the former ones but it fits nicely into the overall story and works fine as climatic scene.
After all I wasn't expecting as much from this character before I started reading it - and I am glad that I was wrong :D
