Charles Moffat is a fantasy author based in Toronto, Canada who has been publishing both fiction and non-fiction for over three decades.

Moffat is influenced by authors David Eddings (The Belgariad and The Malloreon), Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman (co-authors of Dragonlance), Ursula Le Guin (Earthsea), J. R. R. Tolkien (The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings), Robert E. Howard (Conan the Barbarian), Stephen King, and George R. R. Martin (A Song of Ice and Fire).

Since 1999 Moffat has mostly been writing fantasy set in the fictional kingdom of Korovia, a pseudo-Slavic kingdom that mixes a variety of fantasy elements common to Sword & Sorcery, Slavic folklore, Dark Fantasy, Heroic Fantasy and other fantasy subgenres.
