1st I got a LG 650-b but the screen was dim and colors were really washed out. So I returned it
2nd got an AOC c24g1 with a VA panel(because all of the good reviews). TOO dim and very slow pixels for the 144hz. Colors were bad no matter how you try tune it.
3rd Asus vg248qg. Since I was pleased the picture quality of my actual 27", I thought I might spend a bit more and give Asus a shot. This one is a KEEPER.
*Good image quality and can be tuned to your liking (more natural or more vibrant)
*fast response time ( no ghosting at 165Hz)
*freesync works flawlessly with Nvidia cards (yes it is a freesync monitor that is Gsync compatible. Not a real Gsync monitor)
*not the best viewing angles but still good for a TN panel
*would of been a great Value at $240~$260 (reason for the 4/5 stars)
First off, I am playing a not-so-graphically-demanding game on low-to-medium video settings through a GTX 1060 6 GB. The video is definitely not as smooth as I had on previous (cheaper) monitors also at 144 Hz / 1 ms, with the same PC specs I currently have. There are certain (noticeable) frame stutters here and there which impacts significantly performance in competitive gameplay.
Second, the G-Sync does NOT kick in on windowed mode, despite having windowed mode enabled under G-Sync settings of Nvidia control panel. Significant difference in performance between windowed and full screen, and I am forced to play full screen which is extremely inconvenient.
The only good thing I have to say is the flexibility of the adjustment, but this is a comfort which obviously does not compensate for performance.
The color is mediocre, starts off pretty bad but you can play with the settings to come to a somewhat acceptable color.
The panel of this particular monitor impacts image quality when viewing from indirect angles. Not really a deal breaker for me since I'm facing it directly anyways, but be advised.
Note, all 3 of my monitors are ASUS and my other two (half the price) do not have any of these issues. This is the first time I am disappointed by an ASUS Product.
Not worth the price at all, many 1/2-of-its-price monitors will show better performance.
My only complaint, Gsync... when on it flickers the screen a bit and is super noticeable in dark settings with some light sources visible, which every fix I have found involves Free Sync frequency... thing is, RTX cards don't us Free Sync, that is an AMD thing, so I just have Gsync off, and it doesn't make much of a difference other then not having annoying flickering.

Note that it does come out of the box very bright. I'm not talking brightness as in nits, but "picture brightness". Unless
you're fine with really bright colour settings, I recommend decreasing it in NVIDIA settings. I always tweak around with 'em when I get a new monitor anyway lol.
You definitely get what you pay for. A blazing fast, high quality FHD panel that can rotate, tilt, and pivot. It also has built in features on the side, like an FPS monitor, with a user friendly interface.
