I had a wonderful time reading "At any Price", and I was delighted to learn that there is a sequel ! I totally look forward to reading it. Can't wait to be honest !
What I liked the most, was definitely the dialogues ! Some of them are scathing, sweet, moving, cutting...
I have to say that I have a thing for alpha males. Thus, I totally fall for Adam Drake.
I also liked Mia's personality and the author's sens of humor.
The plot is good as well.
Finally, I found this novel very well written.
I read it in one day and finally bought it on amazon by the end to keep it in my library. I highly recommend it and be watching for Brenna Aubrey's news.
Thanks a million for the opportunity.

J ai adoré At any Price.

I am certainly not a gamer and this world was foreign to me but the characters and the depth of their personalities and struggles is what kept me glued to this book. Mia seems like a 'tough cookie ' but her inner struggles and deep desire to do well for her mother are relatable and understanding. Her best friend Heath is her inner voice and confidante and tries to keep her focused on the real issues. While Adam seems like a bit of a hard headed business man we soon see his soft heart and the need to protect Mia not just from him but from herself. The story grabs you from the beginning and you are in for a wonderful ride and the 'games ' have just begun. Can 't wait for the next book.

"At Any Price" a titillating stormy contemporary romance begins with Mia Strong's "Virgin Manifesto" as she offers her virginity for auction online. Her rules are clear; the highest bidder must be unmarried; have a lab workup to ensure no STD's; no criminal history; proof of payment in an offshore holding account and a contractual agreement that there will be no contact after the contract's completed.

But the auction goes awry when the winner, Adam Drake the CEO of Drake Multimedia Entertainment snidely voices his own conditions and Mia begins having second thoughts. Only with charm and playing on their steamy chemistry is he able to take control of the situation so the game can begin. What neither expect as the romance heats up and they reveal past pain and suffering is that love can heal even their worst demons if they 're strong and brave enough to accept and trust each other.

The story comes alive in the world of gaming where geeks like Mia Strong set aside their troubles playing Dragon Epoch, the latest innovative game from Draco. But Mia's no stranger to problems; struggling to pay her bills, studying for her MCAT, and trying to help a mother recuperating from cancer whose teetering on the verge of losing her ranch. Motivated by money and a sense of security, a feminist who's determined to control her destiny, Mia puts her only asset of value up for auction even though she's continually warned that nothing good can come of prostituting herself for money.

This well-written plot vibrates with emotion and sexual tension as events unfold that have two people troubled by the past and adhering to a "no dating" policy to pursue their dreams, find love in a wacky contest of wills.

Brenna Aubrey definitely knows how to write a captivating, romancing read.

When gamer girl Mia Strong auctions off her virginity through a well versed manifesto in an effort to attack her mother’s medical bills, she finds herself intensely drawn to Adam Drake the auction winner and successful enigmatic CEO of a gaming company.

The story moves through Mia’s own struggles with her attraction to Adam and how he has been able to bend her rules that state clearly – one night only.

Through the voice of her best friend, Heath, she starts second guessing both her actions and Adam’s when Heath questions what is going on. But the one thing she cannot deny is her attraction to him and his obvious attraction to her.

Twists and turns, ups and downs – Aubrey takes the reader through highs and lows as Mia fights with herself and the promise she made a long time ago – her heart was off limits. I was on edge, especially when Brenna Aubrey teased then took away and teased again as Mia and Adam’s relationship grew and took on new meanings and definitions.

I thought Mia was a strong female character and a good match to the at times controlling Adam. I found the characters relatable and the whole ‘gaming’ twist in the romance an interesting one. At points my heart broke and my eyes flooded with Mia’s struggles and I smiled and felt lifted with her coming into her own and stepping out of the shadows she had created for herself over the years.

To be honest I wasn’t sure what I was going to be getting myself into – especially when the title of the series is Gaming the System and I am one of those people who know very little on the subject of gaming.
