Used to hook my old Atari 7800 up to our big flat screen. Had some issues getting it in because of how close the TV sits to the wall, but that's not the fault of the item itself. Worked perfectly once I got it all connected.

Wasn't expecting much but this actually is on par with the image produced by the original rf box with a lot less bulk. Wish they had this in the 80's

Being used for ColecoVision. My kids are having fun playing Donkey Kong. Real easy to install. Set up in 2 mins. No more screwdrivers and adapters.

Well, you connect it to your TVs antenna's port, and you plug your atari to it and boom! it works as intended. Nothing more to say.
Only one thing, it is expensive... 5$ would have been a proper price.

Time to Play the Classics Again

Recently I found my old Atari Video Computer system. Truly vintage. I had no idea if it still worked, but also no way to test it since it came with that silly little slide switch with two screw-wires attached. TVs don't have that kind of terminal anymore. You can't plug the RCA plug from the game system into a video input on a TV since it requires you go through the tuner. So this little adapter is what I needed, and guess what - it worked! Played a little Asteroids and Pac Man. It's amazing that we used to think that was good, or even acceptable, video quality - but nevertheless, it's kind of fun to go back in time like this. Glad I added this gizmo to my cart.

No more switchboxes!
Reviewed in the United States on January 10, 2017Verified Purchase
These items are great for your old gaming or computer system. They replace the switch box that would often connect into your antenna screws in the back of old televisions in the 70's and 80's. The antenna screws no longer are standard and these boxes are no longer necessary. In fact they were just one more opportunity for a repair as the switches could fail or go bad. If the device is on the signal is either on or off. The Switch was techically always superfluous, but I imagine it may have had something to do with government regulations of RF signals more than practicality. I have one for an Atari 2600, another for a 7800 and one for a Commodore 64. There really is no reason for those old school switches nowadays. This makes for much less of a hassle when using old gaming systems. If you would like to connect more than one device to a television at a time though, I'd suggest getting a coaxial signal combiner.

Perfect for the Atari 2600 connection to the TV
Reviewed in the United States on August 7, 2015Verified Purchase
Okay, I bought this connector along with the rca vh71 A/B slide switch so I can keep the atari connected. This works perfectly and a great replacement for the old box connector switch. I even have a video of this working perfectly but I included some pics.
This small plug just screws into the cable connection on the back of the tv.

Got my Ataria 2600 Jr Working
Reviewed in the United States on December 6, 2018Verified Purchase
Just plug an RCA cable in and you've got all you need to hook up an Atari to your television. The picture had some lines when tested occasionally but I highly suspect that's because of the Atari and not this product. Product is solid. Definitely buy.

Works good for Atari but overpriced
Reviewed in the United States on December 30, 2019Verified Purchase
Purchased this in order to connect Atari 2600 to a modern tv with an antenna connection. Worked beautifully. Only downside is price. Should be priced at $1.25 max as Radio Shack sold them for $0.79 each.
