    It was nice to still get the Teddie inflatable and tarot cards included, overall this is a very fun game, that is actually very accessible for new players. It can get quite hectic but it's fairly simple as far as a fighting game goes, which makes it lots of fun to play with friends.

    Game play is still decent and new lobby system is interesting but the lack of Japanese audio when the first Persona Arena game had this and I have got used to the voices already is a very frustrating experience since now I am forced to hear English.

    So this was recommended to me by Jason Oestreicher of giantbomb.com, as a good entry point to the fighting game genre for me and my daughter. It's super-fun to play; has a good balance of challenging combo inputs with more simple ones; a great stable of characters and some good training modes. My daughter (13) loves it. I'll be getting some training in this weekend! Definitely recommend.

    Siendo un Spin-Off de la saga de JRPG "Persona" Arena Ultimax ofrece un gameplay muy frenético. Un juego de peleas que no sólo luce maravilloso con su estilo pixel art, sino que también se siente genial a la hora de jugarlo. El gameplay es veloz y si bien te demanda mucha habilidad para realizar combos devastadores, también tiene un par que no exigen demasiado, esto siendo pensado para aquellos jugadores que no son muy de juegos de peleas. La banda sonora es increíble, esto no debería sorprendernos pues consta de una recopilación de grandes temas tanto de Persona 3 y 4, así como un par de canciones nuevas... tal como el tema principal del juego que, en mi opinión, es sensacional. Arena Ultimax es un excelente juego de peleas que se popularizó mucho en su momento, a pesar de ello... ahora mismo no hay mucho que rascarle al juego, tiene varios modos de juego contra la CPU, ahí depende de uno cuánto está dispuesto a invertir en dichos modos, así pues... aunque los servicios en línea siguen vigentes (2021), la verdad es que no hay mucha gente activa y la gran mayoría son jugadores ya muy experimentandos, haciendo que cualquier jugador nuevo simplemente se sienta frustrado.
    El juego llegó en excelentes condiciones, pero esto ya es obra del vendedor, pues actualmente es PRÁCTICAMENTE IMPOSIBLE CONSEGUIR EL JUEGO NUEVO, así que las condiciones no dependen de Amazon. Así mismo el juego contiene un manual MUY DETALLADO a color, con varias páginas... hay versiones que aún incluyen las cartas y a Teddie, pero eso eleva el precio a niveles ridículos.

    I am going to admit right now, that I am not at all good at fighting games. Nevertheless, I bought this game knowing full well I was going to be spamming moves or just button mashing to progress the story. To my utter surprise however, I found myself caring about the moves I was making. I tried to learn them, pulling up the move list for each character so I could see just how amazing they really are.

    Anyway, this review is more than just the fighting system, it's also about the combination of the cast of Persona 3 and 4, which is just a fan's wet dream really. Being a direct continuation of Persona 4 Arena, P4AU wastes no time in delving into the nitty gritty of the story. The Persona 3 group, the Shadow Operatives, have been kidnapped and displayed on the Midnight Channel, and red fog envelops Inaba, leaving the Investigation team baffled as to what's going on. Joined by the remaining SEES operatives, the group attempts to rescue Mitsuru and the gang, all while trying to solve the mystery of the red fog and a boy named Sho Minazuki.

    Really, I was just glad to even see my favorite characters interacting with one another, but to actually control them like I imagined a fight between Persona users would play out was just icing on the cake. Everyone is here, and they all have their own quirks just like in the games. Everything stays true to them, to Yukari's fighting style of fighting in the distance, to Kanji fighting with pure strength in front of an opponent. Even the characters that don't normally fight, like Rise (my favorite) get some upgrades, and as I said before, I found myself caring about the characters move lists and attempted to learn them (I failed spectacularly).

    Besides the standard story mode, it also let's you play online vs. others around the world, level up a character in Golden Arena, and also see the story from different perspectives. For me, this game will never be sold, and the included Tarot cards made this game truly worthwhile. I implore you to pick it up if you're a die hard persona fan, and it also takes several nods to what I believe might be Persona 5 and an ex leader of SEES.
