About the author

Hi all - just a short note now and more later. You're likely reading this because you're interested in my techy book, the "Audio Wiring Guide". That book took 17 years (off and on) and is a whole-hearted effort to teach something in writing (soldering, wiring and design) that can really only be taught by doing, by working with your own hands on projects to gain skill.
So my first tip is - if you want to get the most out of the "AWG" don't just read about wiring a guitar plug. Make the effort to wire a guitar plug, using my book as a step-by-step guide. Better yet, wire 10-20 guitar plugs, and try to do each one better. After 15 or so, you really get a good groove...
These days I do computers more then audio - I work on Windows, Macintosh, and Linux machines. I'm enthusiastic about Linux - the Linux computers I build run super-fast and are very stable.
Got to run - if you're interested in more go to www.zenarrow.com

No attempt by author j.hechtman to chase British, Australian, New Zealand, South African, other audio punters with conversion charts/tables/alt-language(slang) to suit other English speaking country(s) in world.
Covers awkward XLR connectors.
pictures very good too.
no list of shops (physical/internet) for where to buy items.
no acceptable alternatives.
A new Mark II version would be useful (see above comments).
